متاسفانه راهنمای عمل برای سازمان های دولتی و غیرانتفاعی روی جلد کتاب ذکر نشده که می‌تونه برای مخاطب کمی گمراه‌کننده باشه؛ ولی بینش کتاب می‌تونه در مورد سازمان‌های انتفاعی هم کاربرد داشته باشه. کتاب بسیار ساده، کاربردی و بدور از غوامض و نتیجه تحقیقات موشکافانه‌ی علم روزه و بیشتر ازینکه چیزی یاد بده یه یادآره (چک‌لیست) و کاربرگ‌های پر از سوال داره که باید افرادی از سازمان پرش کنن تا برنامه استراتژیک تدوین شه. اگر قبلا کتاب معتبر آکادمیکی در مورد استراتژی خوندین این کتاب به عنوان مرور شاید بتونه بکار بره ولی انتظار نداشته باشید که بینش جدیدی بهتون اضافه کنه، ویرایش دوم کتاب مربوطه به 2005.
