The third and last book written by de Jenkins follows the story of a young male protagonist, Juan Guillermo, who struggles to survive in a violent world. He escapes family conflict and poverty in the city to live with his grandmother in the mountains, only to encounter the violence of guerrilla warfare and secrets that threaten his family.
