Jackson's ED is an inexhaustible manual and timeless reference point. It is absolutely worth keeping on a bookshelf of any physicst.
While for generations this book represented (and still represents) a nightmare for physics students, being a sort of 'rite of passage', its sheer scope and depth make it an invaluable piece of any collection.
