Largely drawn on reminiscences of train crew and shed staff. Includes brief potted histories but the focus is firmly in the era 1948-1968. We hear about the various classes of locomotives serving Merseyside from the perspective of those who drove and maintained them. Chapters cover 8A Edge Hill, 8C Speke Junction, 8E Brunkswick,8H Birkenhead, 6F Bidston, 8K Bank Hall, 8L Aintree and 8R Walton-on-the-Hill. Appendices include track plans, locomotive allocations, motive power comparisons and sample shed logs.
