After Becca’s father passed away, she has been running her ranch by herself until her step-brother graduates from college and can join her to help. Then she can act on the plans that she has to do some traveling and go back to school. What do they say about “the best-laid plans”? When Becca’s brother notifies her via letter that he will not be returning to the ranch, Becca scrambles to hire Josh to help her out at the ranch as it is too much for one person to handle by themselves. Josh agrees to work as Becca’s foreman until Summer ends, so that she has time to re-group and make long-term plans.

The attraction between the two mounts, yet they continue to fight the attraction. Josh has been burned before and wants to buy his own ranch and settle by himself. Becca knows Josh will be leaving in a few months and doesn’t want to give her hear knowing that it would just end up being broken.

Through a scattering of misunderstandings, close calls and time spent apart, it was great to watch these two overcome many obstacles and see them both learn that dreams can change or be abandoned for something new and better. The characters were very well written and believable. This is a great story that holds your interest and makes you believe that love truly does conquer all.

Becca left school to take over the ranch when her father passed away. She thought that when her half brother finished school he would return home and help her. She has been paying his way through school even though she had to drop out to take care of the ranch and support her and her siblings.

She always had her dreams of traveling and returning to school as soon as her brother came home to take over for her. Things don't always work out like we plan. She received a letter stating that he would not be returning home when he graduated.

Her half sister lives with her and seems to be quite spoiled and self centered. She has no desire to help Becca except spending the money that Becca's hard work has brought them.

Along comes Josh who is looking for work for the summer only. He too has been hurt in the past. He went into partnership with a woman who took everything he had. His desire is to save up enough money to buy his own ranch;

Can Josh and Becca work things out and make both their dreams come true, your just going to have to read the book to find out. I found it enjoyable and loved every minute of the book. It was a read that was hard to put down once you started it.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review. (Thank you!)

Becca can’t wait until her brother comes home from college to help share the burden of the ranch. When the letter arrives telling her he won’t be coming home, she’s devastated. Now she’ll need to hire someone to help if she ever wants to get to travel. Josh wants to earn enough money to buy his own ranch. When Becca hires him to be her foreman for the summer, he knows he has to stick to his plan and not get involved. Well, maybe they can just enjoy each other for the summer…

Summer Cowboy is a fabulous, cowboy romance that swept me off my feet! The desire and love was palpable as it developed between the hero and heroine. Their interaction was comical, completely adorable and caters to the hopeless romantic. The innocence of the heroine kept the hero coming back for more, keeping the romance light, but captivating. Ms. McMahon weaves an extremely sweet and heartwarming tale in such a way that you’ll always be anxiously awaiting her next novel. If I could have this cowboy for myself, I’d yank him right out of those pages and drag him home (lol)! 5 Stars!

Becca has been taking care of the farm and her siblings since her father died. She put her plans on hold paying for her brother to attend college thinking that he was studying agriculture and agribusiness and would be returning to the farm to help run it but he had other plans. Josh a man with a passion for farming was looking for a summer job to earn the last bit he needed to make his dream of owning his own farm come true. Becca hires Josh as her foreman and reluctantly hands off some of her work to him. Becca hires Josh so she can take the summer and travel and not worry about the farm. Becca and Josh are like minded about how the farm should be run and they find themselves attracted to each other though they fight it – Josh has sworn off marriage and Becca does not want to be tied down she wants to travel and go to college. Find out what becomes of these two when you read the story. It is very well written and keeps the reader actively reading to find out what happens next. I enjoyed the story very much and look forward to reading more books by Ms. McMahon.

Becca owns the Lazy M Ranch. She takes care of others, even when they don’t appreciate it. She left college when her dad died to take care of the ranch and her younger step-siblings. She yearns to return to school and to travel. Josh Randall wants to own a ranch. He’s been working as a ranch hand and rodeoing around the west to save money for a down payment. Working for Becca for the summer should be all he needs.

Becca and Josh have chemistry, but they want different things. As her foreman, Josh can be her summer cowboy, giving Becca time to travel. But… what do they say about those best laid plans? Josh does a great job as foreman, Becca takes a trip, and they still fall for each other.

This is a sweet cowboy romance. It may sound cliché, but I enjoyed this story for its simplicity and romance. So real.

I was given this ARC for an honest review.

Becca was left the ranch after her dad died and is all about keeping the ranch going and making sure her brother and sister have what they need. Josh has an ex wife that took everything he work hard at away and is just trying to buy his own ranch. Josh came into town looking for work and in good timing Becca needs help as family let her down.
Will these 2 ever pull there heads out there butts and admit there feelings. It a lot of going back and forth and keeping on edge of your seat. I felt for Becca a few times in this story with her stepsister trying to cause rift between her and Josh. I was so caught up in this I had tears in my eyes a few time.
Now I haven't got round to reading any of the other books in this series. As far as I can tell you don't have to but I am going to get round to them after reading this one.

I loved that the struggles Josh had to deal with were real and I could feel sorry for him to a point. It wasn't that he didn't deal with his problems correctly but he did it like a lot of people do in his place. You want to slap him upside the head to open his eyes to Becca. This story pulls you in from the start and Becca having made a choice to give up her dreams was a hard choice. Strong, intelligent characters who were wronged at one time in their lifes but pull through in the end.

Summer Cowboy is a sweet story of finding what we dream of having doesn't always turn out to be as wonderful as we think. Becca has raised (and spoiled) her step brother and sister since her father's death and has kept the ranch operating successfully. The characters are well developed and romance is definitely in the air! If you like sexy cowboys, you will enjoy this book.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author. It took me a while to get into this book. It was a quick, easy read. This is book 7 in the series but is a stand alone.

Hated the stepsister! What a selfish witch! Becca and Josh get their HEA.
