Capture this popular and pretty look with the help of Christina Strutt, owner of the renowned design firm, Cabbages & Roses. She takes a tour of town and country homes to showcase, with beautiful photographs, hundreds of decorating ideas. Comfy living rooms feature patchwork cushions and oversized family sofas. The style is beautiful and timeless.
Lovely photos, mediocre text. With her company's fabric prominently displayed on almost every page, it felt more like an ad for Cabbages & Roses than a book from Country Living. Can't recommend.
The most important thing for me in my interior decorating is comfort. I hate new/stuffy/stiff interiors. I want cozy. I want charm. I want handmade. "Decorating Vintage Style" instructs you how to use fabric and flea market finds to create an unique home that is all yours! This book was perfect for me and so inspiring. I came away with so many fabulous ideas. There are six chapters: (1) The Romance of Vintage (2) Vintage Kitchen (3) Vintage Living (4) Vintage Bedrooms (5) Retreats and Hideaways and (6) Creating Vintage Style. The best part of this book is you can refer back to her ideas again and again as I have done as my home changed over the years. I am using more global fabrics now but it still works if you like the faded and worn as I do.
If you love the vintage decorating style, you'll enjoy this book. Must say ... all my reviews for the different Country Living books ... I actually own. Love them all.
