The most interesting part of this book for me was the British Communist Party's slow embrace of the CND. The CPGB was in complete shock that a genuine mass peace movement could emerge outside of their leadership! They were also embarrassed at the calls for the Soviet Union to disarm, preferring to lean on anti-Americanism and anti-German sentiment for support in the movement.
