While these basic techniques would be useful for making period hats the illustrated styles are limited to modern hats. Some techniques require special millinery equipment such as head blocks, millinery wire & needles, etc.. I found the section on cocktail hats (fascinators) and trimmings, especially feather work to be the most interesting. Clear diagrams, supply lists and instructions for each style discussed, brief index and bibliography, glossary and list of suppliers.
