"Blood Debt" is a refreshing, fascinating and unique read about the world of the centaurs. Why refreshing? Let's face it most of the books on the market are vampires, weres, angels, and demons. However, hardly anyone has explored the Greek myths of the centaurs.

22 year old Camille Chiron lives in San Diego, California and is grieving from the loss of her mother due to cancer. On her death bed, Cami's mother finally reveals the name of her father and where he lives. Most all girls love their Dads

I'm often hesitant to pick up books by self published authors, having had some bad experience with great stories being ruined due to bad editing and research. But I know Nancy is good friends with one of my favourite indie authors, Shannon Dermott, so when I seen it on R2R, I grabbed a copy.

This is my first time reading one of Nancy's books and, I'm impressed. The editing was exemplary, the characters were well defined, it was well paced and imaginative. I look forward to reading more books from

I have been a fan of Nancy Straight ever since I read the first book of her Destiny series. After I finished it, I immediately went to Amazon and purchased the next two books. I would have done that with Blood Debt as well but, sadly, the rest of the series isn't out yet. However, I look forward to the rest of the series with great anticipation. Here's why I love it…

First is the story itself. I think the thing I love the most is the uniqueness of it. The mythology woven into the story is

I gave it two stars for the originality of the concept, but otherwise this book was pretty awful. The characters were lackluster, and there was about 0 action or character development until the very end of the book. It goes: Girl gets introduced to her long-lost dream family, meets a guy, falls in love with said guy after about 20 seconds, schemes away about how to be with him. Really, the romance here was the main plot driver of the book, and it wasn't even very good. The book isn't very long, ...more

Love this and swooning over Drake!I loved being whisked away into this original and fabulous story. There is something to be said about a book that can pull you in, you don't want to put it down, and you don't want it to ever end. Blood Debt did that to me. Nancy Straight has penned a marvelous story with many swoon worthy moments packed full of action, suspense,a forbidden love, and brings a new twist on mythological Centaurs. This was a total “me” book, and I say this because even though

I absolutely loved this book! Nancy Straight has started a wonderful new series with Blood Debt, which is book one of the Touched series. Just as with Meeting Destiny, Nancy has created endearing characters, a brand new world of adventure, and once again introduces originality into the paranormal romance genre which is refreshing amidst so many overused plots today. I felt an immediate connection to Cami in the first chapter and grew to love her more as the story progressed. The book is full of ...more

Blood Debt is an amazingly unique book about Camille, a girl born from a Centaur bloodline, who discovers that shes a revered Centauride (or female Centaur) within a hidden society filled with strange customs. I've never read a book about Centaurs and found the mythology within this quite fascinating.

Centaurs live amongst humans and are not half horse half human, instead they are derived from the descendants of Chiron,

I was a bit hesitant the first time I saw this but eventually I decided to give it a shot – and I’m so glad I did. Nancy Straight has brought something wonderfully refreshing to the YA market. Angels, demons, vampires, werewolves? Faeries or mermaids? You can temporarily put them to the back of your mind while you read about centaurs instead.

Camille has never known her father, though not for lack of trying. Her entire life her mother refused to say much about him but on her deathbed,
This book was like no other I have read before. Centaurs? You’re like ‘Whaaaa?’ I know, you think I’d mis-spelled or you mis-read, but it truly was about Centaurs! Really really good looking ones :D

Camille is 17, her mother just passed away & she is all alone in the world. Only she’s not. The parting name her mother leaves directs her to meet her Father, and through him she discovers she has 5 half brothers (B names anyone :)) and a step mom. Things aren’t as they seem when she is told that
First I would like to thank Nancy Straight for giving me this book to review!

And Second! You need to know I absolutely loved this book!

You need to know that because What The Heck! The beginning of this book made me totally fall in love with all the characters. Camille is a very strong, determined female character. Her mom has just passed away, but not before finally telling her the name of her father she has never met. In finding her father, she discovers a whole new life and family she never
OH GAWD! This book is utterly mind blowing!

It deserves 10 friggin' stars!

The story is absolutely original. I've never read a book about Centaurs before and I officially adore them now! lol.

The way the author pictures them, not only their looks but their habits is amazing.
That's the word for this book.

A great twist in mythology themes. I just LOVED IT!

The characters are perfectly developed.
Camille is great, wow! She may look innocent and fragile but she has some outbursts that made me

Nancy Straight has done it again. She has crafted a unique adventure from unlikely paranormal/Greek inspired creatures. This tale draws you in from the first page and I absolutely loved it. I read straight through forgetting everything else that needed to be done in my life, lol.

When Camille finds out she’s not human, she could have acted a number of ways. What I find interesting is that Nancy didn’t take the easy approach with this one. Her believable storyline could easily be the
Camille thought that she and her mother where the last of her family…but her mother’s death bed confession reveals Camille’s father’s identity. Struggling to overcome the loneliness and loss of her mother, Camille contacts her father and is immediately embraced by a family she never knew. What she also never knew might be deadly for her. You see her mother left a blood debt behind and now the holder of that debt wants her to pay. Ultimately her mother ran for a reason and that reason just might ...more

The cover of this book is simply stunning. The colors flow and work so well together and are simply spelling binding. It made me want to dive into this book as soon as possible. We start this book out by meeting Camille who goes by Cami dealing with her mom's death. As her mom is dying she finally tells her who Cami's father is. Cami is debating if she should call him or not as he doesn't know she exists.Cami finally decides to give him a call and has no idea how much her world is about to ...more

Blood Debt by Nancy Straight

Nancy Straight has written a fantastic and unique YA Paranormal Romance novel called Blood Debt, it’s the first in her new series (Touched #1). Nancy writing is easy to read, character descriptions are well written and the story held my attention right till the end. There are times when I felt so bad for Camille that your eye’s water up. My god this was a fantastic read.

I wanted to write a short review here, but I have no idea where to start with all the problems I had with this book.

For some quick points:

- Everyone in Cami's life is perfect. She discovers her perfect father, perfect 5 half-brothers that are indistinguishable from each other, perfect Gretchen(the mother to her half-brothers), perfect house, perfect car, perfect friends, etc.

Everyone is rich, healthy, happy, friendly, welcoming, with great jobs. She's the hottest thing on

I have to admit when I first read the blurb, I went, huh? Centaurs? I'm coming clean here. The word "herd" made me flinch everytime I read it, but I LOVED THIS BOOK so much it didn't matter.

I don't know why but every time I think of herd, things like elephants and sheep come to mind, not HAWT TO THE CORE MEN THAT MAKE ME SWOON, LOL.

On the latter, this book was filled with HAWT men. The amazing part was there wasn't a bad boy among them. Imagine a world full of beautiful men that all want you,
This was my first book by Nancy Straight that I've read. I did enjoy it, haven't read anything about Centaurs. I did enjoy the twist and turns in this one.

Cami, a young 22 year old woman just lost her mother not to long ago. It was always the two of them, Cami always wanted to know who her father was. Bloode Debt was amazing i love every second of it and i couldn't put it down. This Girl Camille finds out by her dying mother who her father is and she also finds out she is an Centaur. I love Camille she is strong and she don't like being told what to do and with her finding out everything about being an Centaur she doesn't like a lot of things about it. She also finds out more about her mom and her side of the family and how she owes a blood debt. There is alot of different characters which I ...more

Her eyes were wide, her voice accusatory, “Never again, right?”

I couldn’t deny the lust I felt for her. My hands refused to release her. My body leaned into hers as I whispered, “Not after this one.”

Blood Debt began with twenty-two year old heroine, Camille (Cami), hesitating to dial the phone number of her father whom, mind you, her mother hid her from and had no idea that Camille even existed. In fact, the only reason why Camille even learned about her father's name was her mother's sudden

A gorgeous, entertaining, and fun novel which really did hook me from the first page. There were no regrets while reading this book because every sentence cast a spell which was hard to be broken until you reached the end. Nancy Straight created a unique and spell-binding story which was very unlike many of the fantasy books coming out today. The story-line was fantastically written from the perspective of a 22-year old woman, who came across as much

Blood Debt is my first centaur book. I have to say that I was expecting the horse creatures from Harry Potter and I was wondering how much I would enjoy a book about half horse creatures, but Nancy Straight's take on centaurs was so interesting! They weren't horses at all, they were just characterized as such because of how fast the men centaurs can run. I loved the magical world that was created in Blood Debt and I thought Nancy did an awesome job answering any questions we might have while ...more
I received this book in return for a honest review. The story is about Camille who loses her mother to cancer and in her mother’s dying breath is given her birth fathers name. He immediately requests that she take the next flight out, excited Camille heads to Charleston South Caroline to meet her father. She's ...more

Wow! I don't even have words to describe how much I loved this book. I've read the first one of Nancy's Destiny series and while I liked really didn't wow me. This one BLEW ME AWAY.

First of all...CENTAURS? How awesome is that? No vampires or werewolves in sight. It was very refreshing and Nancy did a wonderful job of creating the history of the race.

Camille is a wonderful character. I totally took to her and

I was very lucky to be able to read an advanced copy of Blood Debt by Nancy Straight. The first book in the "Touched" series was AMAZING!!! She brings to life the character of Camille, who in the first couple of pages loses the most important person in her life and learns where the father is that she has always dreamed about. Camille then learns about a new family that she never knew existed and is thrown into a new lifestyle that she is struggling to understand as well as learn. She is thrown ...more

Now usually I don't start a review off by stating the flaws of a book because that's just not nice, but since the author, Nancy Straight, forgot --intentionally I'm sure-- to warn us poor readers just how addictive her book would be, I feel it's up to me to do the warning. Granted, being an enormous fan of Ms. Straight since her Destiny series (Meeting Destiny (Destiny Series - Book 1) is FREE right now on Amazon!), I probably should have clued in faster. Nevertheless, there is your warning. ...more
