Stephan Lucas is a defense lawyer and in his career he had a lot of clients who were accused of many horrible crimes including murder and sexual assaults.
In this book he introduces us to several of such cases where we get to know what happened, the accused client and how the process went on. It was pretty interesting. He made a good selection where the cases weren't all that clear or very clear and he had to deal with being part of it and defending the criminal. Where the accused were horrible people and also where they were just regular human beings and them actually being guilty was a surprise. A nice look at the work of a defense lawyer.
I found each of the stories pretty interesting but my favorite was probably the one where one man stabbed another in a moment of rage. Such a case where the accused horribly regretted what he did and couldn't even himself understand why was a great read. Such an interesting look at how human mind can work sometimes...
