I am so pleased that I surprisingly loved this book! I was a little hesitant about reading this one as I am not a fan of Desperate Housewives which this book is constantly compared to but yet I really enjoyed it. I did find it took me a while to differentiate between the three main characters, although they had different back grounds it took me time to remember who was married to whom but once I had this down to a tee the book flowed smoothly and it became a real page turner.
I loved the surprising situation which occurred towards the end when the girls join forces to show their husbands they are not to be messed with and the build up to this moment was tense I found myself speeding through the pages to see what these ladies had planned!
Each of the characters are developed well and each of their relationships with their husbands are told in depth so we surprisingly feel sorry for these glamorous ladies and find ourselves routing for them even if what they have planned is on the wrong side of the law! For those of you who enjoy the whole fashion scene you will enjoy this book as there are many brand drops throughout this book.
I do love an ending that ties everything up perfectly I am not one who likes an ending that leaves us to use our imagination so for me the ending of this book really completed this fantastically entertaining read. This is a fantastic price on kindle at the moment so head over and click to get your copy.
A story of 3 beautiful characters whom are fail in marriage. I loved how the author had the stories bringing me to luxurious life, financial-free dreams, attracting me to the scene just like me witnessing the scene or watching a drama, bringing numerous emotions into the chapters and following the storylines : How angry to feel a bastard betraying wife and son, how sad when someone does not care his wife’s need, how cruel to see a tape of his friends rape-kill her sister...
However, I feel the climax of every story of the ladies is not enough for me. I wish there would be more dramatic scenes in them. Thankfully as the ending is beautifully written and made me smile at the end of the chapters and epilogue.
This story reminds of myself and my past relationship. It encourage me be more brave and character, rather than give in to idiots who do not deserve me at all, whether he is rich or not.
Tskk, and also, the story is also relatable to people and families who I know and rich, understanding the drama is really oooff-ing exciting.
I really enjoyed reading this book – it’s a must if you’re a fan of Made In Chelsea like myself. I loved the story – there are so many twists in this book it is unreal and the ending for me was perfect. This book has everything – lots of glamour, fashion and money. It also prooves that Money doesn’t make you happy.
Such an entertaining read – I was gripped from the beginning and enjoyed every page. I found myself relating to every character and willing the three main girls to succeed.
If you like your chick lit to have a twist, compelling story and written beautifully than Chelsea Wives is for you. It’s chick lit with depth – something I never thought possible. Perfect holiday read.
Oh my days.... After reading this book I thought if only.I can wipe my mind clean and pretend to read it all over again!! absolutely amaziiinnggg! I laughed and cried and feared and laughed again all through the book. I'm a great fan of Nora roberts, tasmina perry, Anne Stuart and Rita bradshaw. I have just discovered this without and read her book for the first time and it definately won't be the last!!!
Started out good at first. But when in the middle part towards the end this novel struggled to come up with an ending fit for all the characters created but made an epic fail while trying. No wonder Candace Bushnell is the queen when it comes to pulling strings with novels like this.
Complete trash but fun! Was excited to see how the wives' plan panned out and the ending was satisfying. A little predictable but an entertaining and easy read.
3 women living in London's posh Chelsea borough are about to get a bit shock in their personal lives. Firstly, there's ex-model Imogen, who is unhappily married to husband Sebastian and wants to start her modelling career up again, much to her spouse's chagrin. Then there's her best friend Calvary, who turns her a blind eye to all of her husband Douglas' indiscretions, but there's one that she just can't overlook and that is threatening to ruin her marriage for good. Lastly, there's new girl on the block Yasmin, a young party girl who has married a rather elderly Lord, and has everyone is convinced is just with him for the money and title. But there's something Yasmin is hiding, a dark secret that can threaten everything. Join the 3 Chelsea Wives as they decide to start in place a plan that will have the men around crumbling in their wake - revenge if you will. But what is it the wives must avenge?
I have to confess that I loved this book from the start. With larger-than-life characters which really get you engrossed into the book, and a plot that is somewhat ridiculous yet utterly brilliant, I found everything about this book very readable and enjoyable. Weatherley takes the time to set up the plot behind the revenge well enough that it seems plausible the women would act in the way that they do, and I found myself really rooting for the Chelsea Wives! My favourite was Yasmin, the young party girl who has everyone fooled about her real motives for marrying her elderley husband, and her story is revealed slowly throughout the book, and you can begin to understand her pain. I also really liked Imogen, especially as she starts to concoct her plot, which I found surprising in several parts, and quite clever.
As you might expect, there's a lot of name dropping of designers and posh brands in the book, but unlike in previous books where I have found it annoying, it seemed necessary in this book and quite fun to read consequently. I liked how Weatherley has invented this world for the women, and her descriptions of everything made it very realistic to read, even though it's a world I won't ever really get to experience myself! I found the latter half of the book where the women start to take their revenge to be very good, and the pace picked up as well. I enjoyed the twists and turns along the way towards the end, and found myself wanting the women to be successful! The men in the book were just so dislikeable that you couldn't help but want them to be screwed over by Imogen, Calvary and Yasmin!
This is a fantastic debut adult novel from Anna-Lou Weatherley, and the perfect beach read! It's escapist fiction at its best, and it goes to show that even if you have all the money you could ever need, it doesn't necessarily make you happy. With an outlandish cast and fantastically crazy plot, Chelsea Wives deserves to be a huge success because it's utterly fab and readable. I found the three stories easy to follow, loved how the world of the Chelsea Wives was carefully created and it made me realise it isn't a world I would want to be a part of! Join Imogen, Calvary and Yasmin on the adventure of a lifetime and pick up a copy of Chelsea Wives, you won't regret it! (Please note that Calvary is called 'Calgary' on the back cover and blurb of the book, but is called Calvary throughout the story, hence I've called her that too).
This is Desperate Housewives meets First Wives Club set in the glamorous borough of Chelsea.
Special low price for a limited period to discuss this new talent.

************************************ My thoughts; If you are a fan of Desperate Housewives or Made In Chelsea then I recommend you march down to the shops and buy this book immediately! Welcome to the world of the Chelsea Wives, three stunning ladies who lunch, living the high life with luxury holidays, designer clothes and envious lifestyles. But beneath all the glitz and glamour, their perfect lives are not as rosy as they seem. Calvary has too often been put in the position of turning a blind eye to her husband's indiscretions, Imogen's husband is very manipulative and party-girl Yasmin's life has an air of mystery about it. Together, the women devise a plan to have ultimate revenge on their husbands...
This book is the ultimate escapism; feisty, sexy, glamourous and absorbing. The revenge is very well written, there are lots of twists and surprises that keep you hooked, I read the book in one sitting because I was so gripped! The characters were brilliant, as the wives individual stories unravelled I found myself wishing I could read quicker because I constantly wanted to find out more!
The drama and the story was so compelling, and as the reader I was really rooting for the girls to get what they wanted! This is a fun, thrilling story with an insight into the high life we all dream of. I was carried away by this entertaining, sophisticated and addictive story, and I'm certain you will be too. Anna-Lou Weatherley is definitely an author to look out for!!!
I can't wait for the next one from Anna-Lou Weatherley and would recommed this to anyone who wants a fast sexy read with real substance.
It’s always fun to read something completely escapist and in stark contrast to your own life and Chelsea Wives certainly came up trumps on that score! I picked this up for my kindle whilst browsing for a few new reads and thought this sounded fun. It doesn’t disappoint.
Our leading ladies are Imogen Forbes, Calvary Rothschild and Yasmin Belmont-Jones. Each of them is stinking rich and living the lifestyle with bells on! There is lots of mention of brand names, famous restaurants and the like… If you are into fashion and designer names then you’ll feel right at home here -and if you are not– well it’s a wonderfully escapist entertaining read anyway! In spite of their wealth, they are all utterly miserable and unhappy in their marriages for varying reasons. I expected to dislike the characters and to find them shallow and vain but in fact the author has developed them well. They have depth and are likeable. They are all desperate to get out of their individual situations and when one of them makes a plan to get back at her husband the other two jump on board immediately for their own personal reasons and a great story plays out.
As I learned more about their marriages and the situations they were in I found myself rooting for them and wanting their plans to succeed – even if they weren’t legal! As you get to know their husbands it becomes rather satisfying to see the women eventually get their revenge in one way or another. There are some funny moments too.
Verdict:This story does have a happy ending and if you need an entertaining escapist read then this book does the job perfectly! It’s available in both paperback and Kindle formats and although I read it mainly tucked up in bed and on the sofa, it would be the perfect accompaniment to lounging on a sunbed with a cocktail in hand.
Imogen Forbes a beautiful former model now married to Sebastian. At thirty-six Imogen has still got the looks to be a model and when she gets a second chance at modelling and the chance of a modelling contract with a big company. Will Sebastian approve?
Calvary Rothschild is Imogen’s oldest and truest friend. A former editor now married to Douglas. Calvary is tired of Douglas unfaithfulness and his latest infidelity would be the final straw, but Calvary knows that ending her marriage means the possibility of giving up her status and standing with the social elite being a Chelsea Wife brings Will Calvary be prepared to face her fear and give everything up and star a new?
Yasmin Belmont-Jones has a dark secret. She is the glamorous ex party girl. Compared with her older husband many may think that she is nothing more than a gold digger. But could it be something else that ties Yasmin to her husband Lord Belmont?
From the outside it looks like these women have it all. Rich husbands, that brings sophistication, glamour and wealth. But that is not all the Chelsea wives have in common and they are about to unite in an unbreakable bond as they are prepared to risk all in their need for revenge and to avenge.
Chelsea Wives is an amazing read. It is just a fabulous book. It is a book you just can not put down. It plays out in your mind like a really good film. The characters are just brilliant and all are highly interesting. The storyline is excellent and very well written. I loved it. I could go on and on about just have fantastic it is but why don’t you step in to the lives of the Chelsea Wives and find out for yourself, you are in for a good read.
I was lucky enough to win this paperback book from a giveaway on Dizzy C’s Little Book Blog.
The prologue was promising, it was very intriguing and left me with all sorts of explanations running through my mind, after that I found it a struggle to fully get involved with the story and its characters. This didn’t last too long though and I soon became rather caught up in the glamorous world of the Chelsea wives.
After initially feeling irritated by the three main characters, I was surprised to find myself utterly fascinated by them. Once I had discovered more about their lives and realised that there was a lot more depth to each of them I found it easier to connect. Their crazy world was so completely different to my own, full of money, deception and lies – something that I admit was difficult to read about at times, but definitely gave an edge to the storyline.
It was the master-plan for revenge that ultimately captured my attention with this book, during the build-up to the main event I was very keen to find out how it would work and finally watching it all unfold was very exciting! The whole plan was like a female version of Oceans Eleven
There was an unexpected turn of events towards the end that made it impossible to put the book down, I simply had to know how things would turn out and I’m happy to say that once I reached the end I was satisfied with the outcome.
The book contained quite a few sex scenes with the occasional bout of drug use and swearing so obviously if this is likely to offend you then I don’t think this book will be for you.
This was an enjoyable book – glamour and mystery all mixed together!

Whatever you are doing this summer, pick up this seductive and captivating book, the Chelsea Wives are in town and they are definitely here to stay!
I was surprised to learn that I really liked this book. Being a girly-girl who loves things such as Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, etc I love anything designer, pink, glittery and girly. So when I saw the cover of this book (which is how I always pick the books I want to read, despite the very famous and clichéd saying 'never judge a book by it's cover') and read the first few pages (in which Weatherley constantly refers to every popular brand/designer around at the moment) I knew I would love it. However, I did expect the book to be full of trophy wives, not really doing much and didn't really see what the story line was going to be. Then the secrets began to be revealed to me, and the plot began to build. I became incredibly intrigued by it and although I was kept up to date with everything that was happening, there was still mystery within the characters and plot that kept me reading. Anna-Lou Weatherley is an incredible writer who not only knows how to provide entertainment for the reader, she also provides unexpected twists which add to the pleasure of reading this wonderful book. I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone who'll listen and will no doubt be reading more of Weatherley's work.
Though author of two previous novels (Ibiza Summer and, The Wrong Boy) aimed at a teen market, Chelsea Wives is the first adult novel for this author. An ideal summer read in that its fun and light, I can't however help but think that it would be appreciated more by those in a younger age bracket.
Billed amongst other things as 'the ultimate ladies who lunch' this is one group of women I wouldn't want to lunch with.
With a plot that is at best unbelievable and at worst incredulous and characters that I neither particularly liked nor identified with, anyone would think this was a book I was bound not to enjoy and yet there was something about it that was incomprehensibly satisfying.
An author to watch out for it, I'm interested to see how Anna-Lou matures as a writer of adult fiction.
