When a kiss...

All reporter Sadie Barton wants is to be taken seriously and judged on her own merits, not her stepfather’s money. She and her actress sister left Wisconsin to get out from under his controlling thumb and leave behind the malicious whispers that they’re no better than their gold-digging mother. But California isn’t all sun and fun, and paying the rent while t

MY REVIEW POSTED HERE

For the past few weeks I have been going through a terrible reading funk. I tried to find a book that would capture my interest but nothing seemed to snap me out of my reading funk. Well nothing until I decided to mozzie over to my bookshelf and pickup my copy of More Than a Kiss by Stacey Joy Netzel. Within the first few chapters of this book I was sucked so far into the story that the world around me completely disappeared.

Sadie is running from under the thumb of her rich

I have found a new author to love. A few weeks ago my buddy Danielle over at Book Whore Book Blog was talking about how much she loved Lost in Italy by Stacey Joy Netzel in her review and since she and I have very similar tastes in books, I went looking for Lost in Italy for my Nook. Alas, at the time it was not available on Barnes and Noble but I found another book that was mentioned in a follow up interview with Stacey Joy Netzel on Danielle's blog. It was More Than A Kiss. Even though it wasn ...more

This poor book had a lot of things going for it, it just didn't happen at a good moment in my life. (Namely: at a moment where all my waking days are consumed by a Broadway hip-hop show about a founding father.) So I never really got into it, despite the fun beginning (kissing for work!!!), the cool characters, the tropes I like, etc. SORRY BOOK, you deserved better. (Also, the book is much better than what the cover would imply.)

I picked up this book several times, but every time I started reading it something would pull me away. It's taken me months to dig into this one, but I'm glad I was persistent.

This is the first book I've read by Stacey Joy Netzel, but I doubt it will be my last. I enjoyed all the characters, even the more minor ones. They were all well developed with their own backstory, which helped to support both the hero and the heroine's personalities.

Sophie and Zach were quite a pair. On the outside they l

I enjoyed this story.

Sadie and her sister, Gemma, moved to California from Wisconsin to make it on their own. Their mother had married a wealthy older man when the girls were young and the stigma of her being a gold-digger spread to her daughters as well, making their lives a bit difficult with their peers. Their stepdad used his money to control the girls by getting them to do the things and make the decisions he wants.

Zach is a very wealthy entrepreneur with a Netflix-type company. When Zach

My first book by this author. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

The meet cute was funny, sweet and hot. Our couple sure had chemistry! But a few angry lines from Zach, overheard by Sadie, taken out of context and misunderstood, sent Sadie running. Both Sadie and Zach had emotional baggage about gold diggers so this was a sore point for both.

I could totally understand why poor Sadie was so sensitive to the money issue, and this coloured her childhood into adulthood. It cannot be easy living with the na

More Than A Kiss is a fun contemporary romance by Stacey Joy Netzel. Ms. Netzel has delivered a well-written book loaded with a fantastic group of characters. Sadie takes her sick sister's place at the filming of a commercial where she has to kiss a stranger. Back in her journalist position she's pulled off an assignment on orphaned ducks at the last minute and sent to interview millionaire Zach Robinson. Zach lost a bet with his friend and the payment is to appear in his own commercial where he ...more

I really enjoyed this sweet read. The characters felt authentic and I could see Sadie's stubborn expressions.

Sometimes it seems that sweet, straight contemporary romance novels are a dying genre and it always make me happy when I am proved wrong. If the characters are from different social statuses then the book is on my “to read list” automatically. More Than a Kiss falls in both categories and I am very glad that I had a chance to read it.

This is a lovely, sweet romance with great characters. The main characters are Zach and Sadie. Zach is

They, whomever they are, say that the biggest source of trouble in a relationship is money. If Sadie and Zach are any indication, they are correct.

Sadie and Zach meet when each is undercover. She is filling in on a commercial shoot for her aspiring actress younger sister, while he is disguised as a zombie, a sort of payback for losing a bet. Zach instantly is attracted to Sadie, but all she sees

Sadie and Gemma are sisters living in CA. Sadie is trying to be a journalist and Gemma an actress. They are barely making it financially. Gemma has a small part and gets too sick to keep it. It's a non-speaking role so Sadie agrees to go in her place. She meets Zach who is there and will be in the film. Parts get rearranged and she ends up in Zach's lap kissing him. It required little acting to pretend she was lost in his kiss. Zach is rich and Sadie does not like rich men. Experience with her s ...more

I purchased this as part of the "Loving the CEO" box set and so far it's been the best one. Sadie, Zach, and even side character Matt are all jaded and decently well developed characters in need of some honesty. Due to the rumor surrounding her attractive younger mother and her rich husband 30 years her senior, Sadie is basically anti-rich guy. Since Zach is a well off CEO of his own company (that's basically Netflix), he's off limits to Sadie. This doesn't stop her from falling for him, though. ...more

Good book, a little cheesy at times but overall, a good one.
Zach is the owner and CEO of movie mail, but a bet with a friend lands him starring in his own commercial where he meets Sadie who is filling in for her sister. On screen kisses light a fire into both of them but Sadie takes off. The following day sparks a new surprise when Sadie has to interview the owner of MovieMail.,.to both of their shock, they are once again face to face, but when Sadie refuses to write an article over the materi

A truly beautiful story about trusting others and yourself. Sadie and Zach's journey of learning to love and trust others is a lesson everyone can learn from. I loved how neither character was weak but also not strong enough to resist each other. The constant turmoil kept me wondering if there really was going to be a HEA for their story. Needless to say I was just as satisfied at the end as I was when I first started.

Loved it! Lots of yummy chemistry between Zach and Sadie. Sadie has huge issues with being judged by other people. She will do just about anything to avoid being labeled as a gold-digger. So what does Sadie do? She pushes away a great guy like Zach just because he is rich! Sadie informs Zach that she has a job and does not need or want his money! I laughed so hard when he told her, "That's good because I have decided not to give you any!" Great story!

Sada takes her sisters place in a commercial because she is sick. While there she meets Zachary but thinks he is just another actor. Little does she know that the next day she is sent to interview the CEO of a million dollar company who never gives interviews. As she steps into the offices, she discovers that it is Zach.

Loved Sadie and Zach' story. I loved that the drama was realistic and not so heart wrenching that it broke my heart. This is my first Netzel book, but won't be my last. I hope there is another book to go with this that has Matt and Gemma's story!

this was the best book so far in the "loving the ceo" bundle. i will say that in the beginning, i was fairly sure that it was so ridiculous that i would be forced not to finish it. it did take a turn for the better and i enjoyed it. it was ridiculous and cheesy but held my attention. 2.5 stars

Fun contemporary romance. It was nice and light with lots of fun moments. All of the characters were like-able and the scenarios were relatable to most everyone.

this was a cute quick read. Confusing at times. Sadie and Matts hate seems forced. The quickness of sadie and Zach's relationship is too fast. A slowed down longer book would work for this story

I liked this book but would have liked a little bit more of an ending. Maybe an epilogue would have given this book 4 stars instead of 3.

Yep, the bundle again.

Totally unbelievable but quite sweet and neither the hero or the heroine made me think they should have been drowned at birth. So that's a plus.
