Weird fables

This book is what I like to think of disconcertingly moving stories. On par with Trout Fishing in America or the more recent St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, these short stories are odd and non-nonsensical on the surface, but nevertheless you find them tugging on your heartstrings and bringing tears to your eyes with their offbeat, offhand brilliance.
