Summer Boys,/I> is from three different point of views: Ella, Beth, and Jamie. They have one thing in common: boy drama.

Ella is considered the beautiful one who can most likely get any guy she wants. Beth is the one that cares more about sports than the way people look at her. Then there's Jamie who wants a summer love and thought she found the one. Oh, and they are all cousins.

This book kind of made me love and hate it at the same time. I just felt like Jamie was kind

A few years ago, before I had discovered the joys of internet shopping and book availability really depended on what I could find in - usually department - stores, I really wanted to read this. I never got around to buying it though, because I thought it would be too trashy for my tastes. Now, with the wonderful evolution of ebooks, I picked it up pretty cheaply and gave it a go. So what was the verdict?
Well, it was trashy, but not in a hide-this-somewhere-where-it-won't-embarrass-you-if-s

"Summer Boys" by Hailey Abbott was a "must read" according to my friend Christina. I went with her opinion and picked it up and befor I knew it I couldn't put it down. Three cousins: Ella (the beautiful one that gets any guy she wants), Beth (the one that cares more about sports then the way people see her), and Jamie (the one that wants to look for a summer love, but the one she falls for was right in front of her face for the past cupple of years). "Oh God, everybody's stupid," Beth gushed. "You need to find a guy who lets you know it's okay to be stupid."

Silly, light. You go into this book knowing it's an easy, summer read. This is a story about a group of female cousins. They go to Pebble Beach every year and spend the time together. It's told from 3 different points of view: Beth, Ella and Jamie. They learn a lot about themselves and a lot about each every summer as they muddle their way through romance and friendships and the inevitab

This book is about three teenage girls and there summer at pebble beach. It's also about their relationships they get in with guys. Each chapter is about three different girls. They are all best friends. One of the the girls Ella is super pretty and all the guys like her but one. Ella like him a lot but he is dating her older sister so her chapter is about that. Beth cares about sports and how she looks. Beth has been dating this guy Ethan since last summer but it all goes wrong in the end. Jaim ...more

I loved this series when I was in high school. But I don't think I'll like it now that I'm not in high school anymore. I guess certain books do get outgrown as you get older. I'd say that it's like Gossip Girl, but Gossip Girl has better plotlines. I still did like George and Beth together though.

Edited review:

So I was rereading because I was in a summer book mood. And WOW, that Peter character is such a *insert whatever name you wish here* Nope, not continuing with this reread agai

"Summer Boys" is a novel about best friends becoming lovers, breakups, jealousy, and anything else you can think of in a relationship. It is narrated by each girl character and talks about each of their experiences. Very well written book and it really portrays the issues in which young couples go through when dating, or even on summer relationships. Abbott really catches the true essences of teens in love and lust.

I think this a good book for someone who likes to read about Teenage love stories and loves drama books. This book is about 4 cousins who live on the beach side in 3 different beach houses and is looking for summer boys and a fun time. Throughout the book there are a lot of breakups, backstabbing and even more boys. I personally feel like this is a good book because with all the drama happening it really gets you attached and makes you want to keep reading. The way the author explains what is h ...more

I was mildly impressed...?
I expected a lot more. I expected this to be as hot as YA summer contemporaries could get. I expected this to be like watching a reality show.
What I got? Well, it fell short. I got a story about a family and friends who spend their summers together. And drama, but no backstory really?
Like, I'm interested enough to read the sequel, but I started this novel off super confused and not really sure who was who for the first 30-40 pages, which with a book this sh

This book is really interesting and has so many plot twists. There are three girls and each of them has a story. Those three girls are cousins. They go to a beach one summer and have some boy trouble. Ella likes her sister's boyfriend, Beth starts loving her best friend, and Jamie has a boyfriend who she got last summer there and he starts pulling away. After everything settles, more things happen. I love how this could relate to reality. Some events relate to me and I just love how each girl ha ...more

Abbott, Hailey Summer Boys, 214 p. – Jamie is looking forward to a summer with her hot boyfriend. Ella wants to steal the gorgeous new guy from her own sister. Beth realizes that her best friend forever is actually looking very tempting. Sand, water, boys and girls scantily clad – all make for a book completely inappropriate for any school setting. NO. When I got this book and put it on my “read” list years ago. This definitely was a book that I would have loved. Years later and my taste in just pure romance books have certainly changed. Since I bought 3/4 of this series I’ll be finishing it. A light summer “romance” read (if you really even want to call it that).

this book was very good. i liked how it had multiple perspectives so you always had juicy details to read from everyones life in the book. the only reason that i didnt rate this book a five is that it was somewhat short and i really wanted more after i finished it and my library did not have the rest of the books in the series.

This was a reread, I have read and loved the entire Summer Boys series, the first time I read this book I had rated it five stars, however, I have gained much experience as a reader and have decided to lower my rating to between a 3.75-4 star rating The reasons why I love this book are many; the multiple characters and how they each have such different personalities and points of views on their life experiences, the fact that this is a summer book and it owns up to it. This is one of these guilty pleasures that wasn't the best read but was still a decent one for the time being. I do think the little description of the book was misleading in ways, and I was expecting more than what I got which is why it got a lower rating compared to my other and better guilty pleasures. Like with Peter, I expected him to be Kelsi's long-term boyfriend and expected fire and passion, but the whole love triangle was so cringy and I hated it. I thought Jamie was rea

Summer Boys by Hailey Abbott was an okay book. I didn't exactly like it, but then again I didn't hate it. I honestly didn't know what to expect. It wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but I highly recomend it to teenage girls who like drama, boys, and summer time. I'm giving this book three stars. Before I get started, I just wanted to give some opinions that I have about the book. I think that the book should have had some more realistic things, like in ways that us teenage girls can relate to. I mea ...more

Summer boys follow three cousins, Jamie, Ella and Beth over their summer vacation at their family house at Pebble Beach. We get introduced to each cousin as they're arriving in Pebble Beach. Beth is the tomboy, where Ella is the outgoing beautiful one, and Jamie is the shy and to her self, but has a boyfriend. As soon as they all get to the house they’re ready to start their summer and head out to the boardwalk.

Throughout the book you see Jamie go from being in a relationship to not. You also s

I have finished the book Summer Boys by Hailey Abbott it is the first in the series. My older sister recommended it to me so I had to read it. I enjoyed it very much, it is like the typical books that I read which are girly.
The plot of this book is there are 3 cousins that are girls all alike in age but totally different when it comes to personality, they stay at a cabin in the summer and they all meet boys that they think they are in love with. One of the girls is Ella, she is a bad girl when

Just like Abbot's Bridesmaid, Summer Boys created a whole new shelf for my books: what-was-the-point-of-that-book. I legit do not understand why this book exists. If you are looking for anything other than very immature teen girl romance, you better look elsewhere, because that is all this book has.

It's about three girls, Beth, Ella, and Jamie. Not to surprisingly, Ella was my favorite and the only one I found at all interesting. Why is it not surprising? Because she was the most awful out of the three. I te

Summer Boys, written by Hailey Abbott, is the first of four books in the Summer Boys series. This book focuses Jamie, Ella, Kelsi, and Beth Tuttle; five cousins (Ella and Kelsi are sisters) that return to their summer home on Pebble Beach. While each girl are given almost the same description of being taller and blonde haired, their personalities greatly differ. Jamie, the quiet one, wishes to rekindle her love with Ethan, a boy that she met last summer. Ella is a wild child that makes it her go ...more

Em, unlike the books I'm used to reading, of course I'm going to say that "Summer Boys" by Hailey Abbott doesn't compare to the works of Austen or Dickens. However, as in today's society reading has sadly become a less popular form of entertainment then it was fifty-years ago, so in that retrospect, today's writers - verses those from years ago - have been deluded by pretenses that whenever they write something, they believe it to be wholly new and fresh when in actuality it isn't. However, one ...more
