The H.O.T. Cops: Trained to impose the law, but naturally skilled at enforcing pleasure

Rogan Wolfe is a bad-boy cop - the lone wolf on the force and in need of something new to excite him. Now he's transferred to sexy South Beach in Miami, working undercover and looking for a fresh start.

April Pediston is the epitome of responsible - over worked and under pressure as a high-powered attorney. Then, one night, called by a former client to a run-down oceanside club she's never been to before, she's rescued from a bar brawl by a stranger.

Rogan and April don't seem a natural match. She's a total professional. He's rough around the edges and ready for anything - which makes April feel totally out of control. And, to her surprise, exhilarated. But stripped of her starched suit, can she really succumb to his every demand? They're headed to a place of desire and reawakening that's about to change both their lives.

Lacey Alexander's books have been called deliciously decadent, unbelievably erotic, exceptionally arousing, blazingly sexual, and downright sinful. In each book, Lacey strives to take her readers on the ultimate erotic adventure and hopes her books will encourage women to embrace their sexual fantasies.

Lacey resides in the Midwest with her husband, and when not penning romantic erotica, she enjoys history and traveling, often incorporating favorite travel destinations into her work.

Lacey's romantic erotica combines hardcore erotica and romance. The sex scenes are very graphic, detailed, and plentiful, including graphic language and extreme sexual situations, but entwined is a romantic, loving relationship that will reach a level of monogamous commitment by the end of the book. Perfect for the reader who enjoys extremely hot, graphic sex and fantasy-type situations, but who also finds satisfaction in traditional romance and wants to see characters fall in love.

Lacey Alexander also writes romance under the name of Toni Blake.

Give In To Me is the third very hot installment of the H.O.T. Cops series and another awesome read.
She still didn’t understand this, the way his forcefulness thrilled every cell in her body, the urge it gave her to fight against him still more so that he would hold her tighter, so that would make her… give in, submit to whatever he wanted.
Straight-laced and overworked, April Pediston has neither the time or the desire for relationships, especially not with someone like Rogan Wolfe, a bad-boy cop whose delicious kisses and seductive touch have her questioning everything she thought she knew about herself. She’s an in demand, high-powered attorney who’s in charge of every facet of her life, so when Rogan demands her submission in bed, and unable to resist she gives it to him, April does the only thing she can think to do – she runs.
“Come on, Ginger. The more you fight it, the more you want it. I can feel it in every move you make. Just let go, baby. Let go. Give in to me.”
Rogan Wolfe isn’t your ordinary cop. He’s edgy, demanding and always looking for something new to keep his life... interesting. Meeting April Pediston - the woman he nicknamed "Ginger" - shouldn’t be all that exciting, given her chilly, standoffish demeanor, but one touch and Rogan knows it’ll never be enough. He’s determined to explore the incredible chemistry between them, a chemistry he’s never before felt. He doesn’t see April running from him as a set-back – he sees it as a challenge, one he’s not about to pass up.

Well, no surprise, here! Lacey Alexander delivers stories that are decadent, delicious and wildly sexy, stories guaranteed to not just heat up your nights, but make them sizzle. Trust me when I tell you, Give in to Me delivers all that, and more. It’s an intensely erotic journey, a tale of one woman’s sexual awakening and her struggle to accept this newly realized - bordering on taboo - side of herself. Though opposites in most every other way, Rogan and April are perfect match for this sensual, seductive exploration. I have to admit, there were times I felt that April was too wishy washy and I would have liked the story to move faster, I also understood that given who she is and what she was learning of herself, anything other than that on her part would have made her less than believable.

The bottom line: If you enjoy a slightly darker erotic romance, you're sure to love this story!

My thanks to Affaire de Coeur Magazine and NAL Trade (Penguin Books) for providing me with an ARC galley for review. I loved every minute of it!

So...my first review for 2013...not exactly the best book of this series, but despite some flaws, it did hold my interest and made me want to finish it. But I did wish it could've delivered more.

The hero, dark-haired bad-boy loner cop Rogan Wolfe, is a relative newcomer to Miami, having left the force in rural Michigan some 6 months ago. Rogan left the Michigan area partially due to a romantic breakup with an ex-girlfriend who came back into his life (Party of Three), making him think he had a chance with her again, and when that didn't work out, it was move on and try to start something new. Sort of a getting over a broken heart and all. Anyway, Rogan's not sure he's even cut out for love and romance, and the occasional fling with a hot and willing woman is enough for him right now. But when doing a little undercover job off the clock for a friend in need, he meets a buttoned-up, strait-laced beautiful lawyer (April Pediston), and desire hits him hard. He'd like to get April (or "Ginger", as he calls her) to let her red hair down and let him have his kinky way with her. When did this desire to get all dominant on a woman happen to him? Was it always inside him, or is it just Ginger who brings out the kink in him?

Rogan...
rogan

Dutiful, responsible, put-others-before-her April can't believe how she reacted to a smoldering hot make-out session with a dark stranger in a dark alley...she's never done anything like that before! To let a man just take over and practically force her? And she doesn't even know him? Yet she wants more of the same? What's happening to her?

As you can guess, there's plenty of hot, somewhat kinky (in the form of tie me up, hold me down, make me struggle against you even though this is what I want)) sex. Rogan and April explore their newly discovered dominant/submissive sides. April discovers (and so does Rogan) needs she never knew she really had, and grows more and more attached to what Rogan can give her. But is sex all they have? Will Rogan ever let down the walls surrounding him and let April inside? Can there really be a relationship when only one partner is being open and honest and willing to share about their past? Will Rogan's reluctance to be truly intimate with another person doom all his relationships? Can he open up to April, reveal his painful past...or is it easier to just let her go?

Now, my thoughts...generally, I liked this book. However, I would've liked to have seen more scenes of Rogan at work, and more scenes of the relationship outside of the bedroom. Yes, there were a few times that Rogan and April went out on actual dates (although they all eventually ended up in some sort of sexual escapade), but I wanted to see more of a real relationship, one where they talked (and not just about sex). I wanted to believe that this could turn into something long lasting, and I didn't always feel that way. Now granted, the whole relationship in the book only spanned a couple of weeks(?), but...it just seemed to start off wrong. First they have this really intense, kinky sex, without even knowing each other. Then April tries to backpeddle (to soothe her conscience) and find out more about Rogan--do they have anything in common? And Rogan is not much of a talker (unless you count dirty talk). Clearly he's hiding something about himself but you never get the feeling that he cares enough about April to give her what she wants (emotionally). Towards the end of the book Rogan starts to examine his feelings, and while satisfying (and sad) I thought it was a bit rushed. I would've liked to have seen a few more chapters and an epilogue before the inevitable ILY's were proclaimed. I think Rogan and April have a little work to do before they can reach their HEA, so I'll just call this a HFN romance.

The sex scenes? Well, you've got your tying up with a scarf, tying down with some handcuffs, some spanking...no sex toys, but you do have the inevitable sex with an inanimate object () Nothing degrading or offensive, but April did get off on being forced, and Rogan did get off on taking control away from April...

"I want to see what your ***** looks like taking my nightstick into it," he told her, his voice going more sultry now...
nightstick_black_front

So all in all, not a bad edition to the H.O.T. Cops series, just not my favorite. If you haven't started this series yet, start at the beginning, where most of the backstory is spelled out. I do believe that Rogan was part of a big orgy scene in book one (Bad Girl by Night) and part of a weekend menage with his ex-girlfriend Mira in book two (Party of Three) but no menage for this big-bad-wolf now. Although I kind of doubt that newly sexually awakened April would say no to a hot menage, especially if Rogan said "Babe, we're having a menage...".
3.75 stars

Warning: This book has sexually explicit language; includes explicit sex (oral and one anal fingering scene); some spanking, tying up, and sex with an inanimate object; sex in public; and lots of dirty talk. Not for the faint of heart.

Review originally posted at http://fictionvixen.com/review-give-i...

At the request of a former client April Pediston stops by a local bar having no idea this encounter will change her life. This responsible, hard-working lawyer helps out her community by taking pro bono cases in addition to her regular case load. Her life is all about responsibility, she’s been taking care of her two younger sisters since their parent’s death, and now also helps out her Gram with shopping and doctor visits. This woman simply can’t tell anyone the word no. When her former client asks her to represent her in a divorce case against her loser husband April agrees, not realizing she’s about to meet the man who will change her life.

Rogan Wolfe is a cop new to Miami, he left his small town in Michigan after a love affair gone bad and decided to head out to the big city in pursuit of something different. He decides to help out a friend by working undercover in his bar hoping to catch drugs being sold out of the back room. What he finds is a buttoned up, red-headed lawyer right in the middle of a husband and wife confrontation that evolves into a bar brawl. After rescuing her they have an intense encounter up against the back alley wall. April is shaken with her make out session with this bad boy, he likes to be in control and she’s discovered she likes being the subservient girl who has to be forced into a seduction. After their initial encounter April runs off afraid of what she feels and worried that she’s not the person she always thought she was.

I went into Give in to Me expecting a nice, fast, dirty, little story about a hot cop and lawyer. I didn’t expect to be turned off by this story almost from the start. This is about a woman who discovers she likes to be dominated in the bedroom. Now this wouldn’t normally bother me, I’ve read my fair share of bdsm books and some of them have been pretty hardcore, but there was always a sense of the dominant actually caring about their partner and wanting them to fulfill that part inside them that urges them to give up control. The relationship between April and Rogan didn’t have that feel to me at all. Rogan was a first class dickhead. Almost from the moment he meets her he treats her like a piece of meat. She says no and he just has this sense of “knowing” that what she really means is yes. The first time they have sex they are still practically strangers and they do it WITHOUT A CONDOM, and then never even attempt to have safe sex ever again. He ties her up, he makes her disrobe and play with herself on a PLAYGROUND, he sticks his night stick up her hoo ha, he makes her give him a blow job on a public beach, all the while calling her his good girl and some annoying nickname he has called her from the start, but he doesn’t do any of these things to help her come out of her shell or because he likes her. No, he does these things simply because she makes his pants tent and he likes to be in control. Rogan made me want to gag. For the first third of the book he couldn’t even remember her last name. Really? What a douche.

Then there’s April. She is supposed to be this uptight, in control, responsible lawyer, but she comes across as a wishy-washy pushover. She basically lets every single person in her life run all over her. When she discovers that she likes to be dominated in the bedroom she comes to the conclusion that since she is so in control in her everyday life that letting Rogan dominate her helps her be free. I didn’t find their first several sex scenes together sexy at all. She fights him, she tells him no, and he just holds her down and tells her he knows she wants it. For some reason she keeps coming back to him, every time she does they go further and further, expanding her sexual experiences with every visit. Eventually she comes to accept this relationship and tries to get to know Rogan. She opens up to him about her life and the pressures she feels trying to spread herself between all her responsibilities. When she asks Rogan questions about his past he basically tells her it’s none of her business and he doesn’t want to talk about it. So they don’t. There is no romance with this couple, there is forced sex that turns into a controlling sexual relationship that abruptly ends with what is supposed to be a HEA. Not a believable HEA, because I never felt this couple connected on any level other than with their private parts.

This is the third book in the HOT COPS series and I picked this one up without having read either of it’s predecessors. After reading this one I’m not sure I ever will. If you’re looking for a story filled with meaningless sex with no connection between the characters this might be for you. It just didn’t work for me. Final Grade: D

This is a first disappointment for my by this author. These sex scenes were cringe-worthy! We all know that we read these kinds of books for the steaminess factor, so if it's making me cringe instead - i'm one unhappy camper! The main issue for me was that the chick practically kept forcing the guy to rape her, as she couldn't enjoy it unless she was fighting it and he was forcing her (even sounds wrong when I write it and re-read it). Even the hero kept thinking to himself that if a buddy was telling him that a girl's "no" actually meant "yes" , he would tell him to stay away and no-means-no. And this was NOT a bdsm thing - this was a psychological thing - the chick felt guilty having sex, so she felt the only way she can do it if she feels like the guy is forcing her into it! To me that's not ok and to me that's not sexy to read about! The moment they started making out, she would start pushing him away and clawing at him ! As the readers, we are privy to her thoughts and know that this is the only way she will indulge in anything physical. But how is the guy supposed to know this?! Our hero claims to have gotten this and understands that this is what she needs, but in real life what guy would take such a risk , on the off chance that she's into it?!?!?

The other annoying thing was that she would hardly every "finish" when they had sex, but kept saying that "it was still amazing" ... Honestly , I don't wanna read about that kinda sex :D If i'm reading erotica, I wanna see multiple orgasms !!

Hot cop Rogan goes undercover and meets prim and proper lawyer April (Ginger), who he gets it on with almost instantly in a carpark whilst being undercover. Good multi-tasking.

Much like the first novel (I omitted the second as I am not into books about existing couples) this book focuses mainly on their relationship with a little bit of suspense thrown in (a very little). There is not as much angst in this novel. April is not wounded, trying to fix herself, like the heroine in the first novel. I thought I would prefer this but actually it gave the story less intensity and made it slightly less hot. It was still a journey of sexual self-discovery which I always appreciate but it was a bit more basic. Ginger just finds her submissive side and there is some light BDSM.

I am not sure about the scene with the nightstick. I just thought 'ow', but I guess it was just the author really exploring that cop scene fully.

I did enjoy this book though. The audio narration is hot! But I am dropping a star just because the first novel in the series was better.

But you know, if you want to see what a hot cop does with his nightstick then this is pretty enlightening!

This has to be the best of the H.O.T. COPS series yet, why you ask? Rogan Wolfe is just one bad ass HOT cop!! I was so glad that this book picked up where the 2nd left off. I felt Rogan got the bad end of the deal in the last book although I didn’t really see him with Mira I have always liked Rogan, he is more the dominant one of the group.

Rogan has come to Miami for a little more action and needing a change of pace and scenery away from his ex-girlfriend. Working undercover trying to bring down a drug dealer he literally stumbles into April Pediston in an alley. April is your typical button up attorney, she works hard but had no time to play, both her sisters take advantage and April doesn’t have it in her to say no. Immediately Rogan’s dominate side takes over and sees the submissiveness in April and they both don’t fight the attraction and heat they have for one another.

April’s biggest fantasy is to be controlled and taken and Rogan is more than happy to do so, he loves the fight and the challenge he never thought as being a dominate that would turn him on but it does.
As April gives herself fully to Rogan she also wants the trust from him but when she starts prying too much into his past he shuts down and April can’t handle that. Rogan doesn’t know how to deal with someone else wanting him in way outside of sex and to move forward he knows he has to tell her about his past, but he’s so afraid of losing her. When Rogan’s job threatens both their lives they both have to make a choice.

I loved Rogan! Yes, he is your Ultimate Alpha, the yummy big bad wolf and you would not want him any other way, but he’s not a total ahole and that makes him even better. April was exactly the women Rogan needed, someone he could take care of but also could stand up to him when needed. She wasn’t whinny and I loved that even more about her. Lacey Alexander knows how to write a sex scene that will melt not just your panties but also every other article of clothing you have on, hell even the kissing is freaking HAWT!!!!

Now we just need Colt’s book the delicious man-whore that he is I can’t wait to see who the heck can tame his sexy ass!

In the third book of the H.O.T. Cops series, GIVE IN TO ME brings together two opposites. The hero, Rogan Wolfe is an undercover cop in South Beach while the heroine is a stern workaholic named April Pediston. Varying greatly in personality, one would think that these two would never get together, however Lacey Alexander creates combustible chemistry that lights these pages afire!

There is no question that GIVE IN TO ME is a red hot read! There is seduction to spare in this sizzler, but I also feel like more time needed to be spent on the hero and heroine getting to know each other. The exploration of their newly discovered dominant and submissive sides seemed to take more weight and seemed to unbalance the story a little bit. I hoped for a more concrete romance that felt more steady. Nevertheless, Alexander always delivers well- written stories that readers will have no problem devouring!

He (holding her down): Tell me you want this.
She: I- I can't say Yes...
He: Just don't say No.

If you are married, ask your spouse to read this. If you both really like it - act on it!

More super intense sex from Lacey A. Who knew that a monogamous relationship could be so hot? This undercover cop bumps into a woman in a bar. He thinks she's beautiful, but likely uninteresting in her severe business suit. Later in an alley, in order to avoid being recognized by the bad guys, he grabs her and kisses her hard - and discovers that she likes it. Cue the tense music and steamy sex.

Corporate lawyer April Pediston has a lot on her plate when she is asked by a former client to help her obtain a divorce. During their meeting at a local cafe they are harassed by the client's abusive husband. She is saved by a cop undercover and finds herself strangely attracted to him. The story follows their kinky sexual relationship that eventually helps her free herself from her other life pressures and gives him a sense of purpose. For those with an interest in dominant/submissive sex scenes. Not really my thing.

I really had a hard time buying into this one, of course it didn't help that I didn't really care for April. I am not a fan of doormat people, and April is a big doormat. I also wasn't a big fan of Rogan due to his actions in the last book. But I think what made this one so lacking was the lack of the HOT bunch that have been there for the other books.

The only reason I finished this book was insomnia. If I'd not had sleep issues, I'd have moved on. I found many parts of the story disturbing. For example, forced sex, playground sex and night stick sex. I like to lose myself in the stories I read and I found I could not go there with Lacey Alexander on this one. Truly disappointing too as I usually love her stuff. :(

HOT!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Steamy, sexy, & fab-u-licous!!! Who wouldn't love a hot, sexy man to pin you to the wall & kiss the breath right out of you? ME PLZ!!! The ending was good, but I was left with a few questions, like what happen to her client Kayla??? Or her sleaze bag husband she wanted to divorce??? Maybe the answers will be in her next HOT book?

This was a very quick read for me. I could not get enough of this story. I loved the main characters being Ginger and the Big Bad Wolf ( pun intended). The end of the story really wrapped up all the questions that I was wondering along the way. I want to read the whole series now!

Smutty but not too smutty. The author totally gave up on the plot halfway through, though. Initially, about 10 characters were introduced. Two of them banged for about 200 pages, then the author remembered that she had introduced non-banging plot points, so she sums them up in the last ten pages.

Didn't like this that much, even though sex was hot as usual. I just didn't like the characters like I did the previous book. There's the usual giving up of control, the characters' backgrounds, and everything was rushed.

The author cannot decide between developing a story or cramming non-stop sex page after page. (Hint: the sex wins) This book is probably a toned-down response to 50 shades of gray executed with more literary skill.

Better than the last Lacey Alexander that I read.

I liked how April was conflicted about what she was feeling, what she was experienced, what she liked. It made it seem a little more real.

Good writing, good sex.

3.25 stars. I liked this book for the most part. It was perhaps a little too much erotica and not enough plot for me. I liked it, but I didn't love it. It was Rogan and April's story. I just didn't feel a strong connection to the characters.

I just had so much trouble getting into this one. Wanted to shake the hell out of the heroine... that could have been it. I still enjoyed the read and would recommend.

Good read, but not up to her usual standards. Voyeur, one of my all time favorites is her best.

Just as good as the others in this series, but I did not like that it did not have an epilogue.

Hot, but you need to suspend your sense of disbelief a good bit.
