For the emergencies that are too minor to call an ambulance, too urgent to wait for an appointment, this highly practical text covers the emergency treatments and procedures you need to know. MINOR EMERGENCIES: SPLINTERS TO FRACTURES covers the handling of dozens of minor emergencies from bee stings to puncture wounds to fractures of the collarbone. This practical, step-by-step guide is an essential reference for any office, clinic, urgent care center, first aid station, or emergency department.
I read this book over several months. It's very clear and detailed, beginning with the presentation of the problem (ex. Mammalian Bites), then laying out What to Do and What Not to Do for the problem. This is followed by a slightly more in-depth Discussion and Suggested Readings. The kindle edition came with online access to videos that supplement the text. I viewed the entire set without problems. This book isn't for everyone and it assumes a knowledge of anatomy, so it's not something to get if you're only interested in home first-aid.
