Pieta and crew try and… uh… then… um. I have no idea what I’m even reading any more.

This series is now firmly and completely into magical girl town, as everybody starts manifesting special powers and the majority of this volume is a big old fight scene.

It throws in upwards of 8 new characters, I think, and has mortal foes working together to pull off a piano recital. In the middle of this aforementioned fight scene.

This feels like a really bizarre French film that happens to be in Japanese, with the strange architecture and utterly bizarre vibe to it all. Since the power stuff happens at night the art is constantly shadowy and moody as all get out.

That said, the art feels like it has been trending downward since first volume, but, like I mentioned last time, this is endlessly readable nonsense if you remember the bizarre non-logic of early manga and anime that had the cohesion of an exploding snowball.

That is absolutely damning it with faint praise, but I am being serious that I kind of enjoy this despite rarely believing it makes a lick of sense to anybody reading it. At least they addressed the weird eyes.

This was a lot better when it was a time loop story, make no mistake. There was, ironically, a really good three volume series in this concept and instead it’s turned into whatever it plans to maybe be about at some point.

2.5 stars - I dunno, the stage seems set for a veritable army of magical girls to come beat the stuffing out of one another in a massive brawl and I don’t think I can afford to miss a volume just in case that happens.

J’ai découvert ce manga un peu par hasard. C’est la couverture qui a d’abord attiré mon regard. Depuis, j’attends toujours chaque sortie avec grande impatience. Cette histoire est originale et tellement plaisante à découvrir. J’aime tellement découvrir cette histoire, suivre les personnages etc. Ce quatrième tome est tout aussi plaisant que les précédents. Je l’attendais avec grande impatience et je n’ai pas été déçue par ma lecture. C’était clairement à la hauteur de mes attentes.

Dans ce quatrième tome, déterminées à enrayer la boucle infernale et injuste où elles sont enfermées, Pieta et ses amies reçoivent la visite inopinée d’une jeune fille nommée Stéphanie. Cette dernière, qui a aussi des cercles concentriques dans les yeux, leur propose une alliance qui laisse nos héroïnes perplexes. C’est alors que Niki s’exclame… « Je connais une autre fille avec les yeux en spirale ! » Un groupe de détentrices de pouvoirs qui s’est ligué contre la Syzygie, et qui semble bien connaître les pouvoirs reçus par Pieta et certaines de ses amies… Le ricanement d’une sorcière se fait entendre dans la nuit..

Je ne me suis pas ennuyée le moins du monde pendant cette lecture. Nos héroïnes sont vraiment déterminées à éradiquer cette boucle dans laquelle elles doivent vivre. C’est à ce moment là qu’elle reçoivent la visite de Stéphanie. Elle leur propose une alliance puisqu’elle fait partie d’un groupe contre la Syzygie. C’était intéressant de voir qu’il y a plusieurs personnes qui essayent de combattre la Syzygie. J’aime beaucoup mes personnages, surtout Pietra j’adooooore son personnage. Je la trouve tellement adorable et toute mignonne. Elle respire la joie de vivre alors même que la situation se présente mal. Par contre la fin de ce tome je ne m’y attendais pas le moins du monde! Je me demande tellement ce qu’il va se passer dans le prochain tome, beaucoup de choses vont changer je pense désormais ohlala comme j’ai tellement hâte!

Un quatrième tome dans la lignée des précédents. C’est toujours aussi fascinant à lire. L’histoire est vraiment originale et j’adore en découvrir de plus en plus au fil des tomes. Les personnages sont toujours aussi intéressant à suivre. C’est un manga tellement plaisant à lire, on en redemande encore et encore. Maintenant j’attends avec grande impatience que le prochain tome soit disponible!

This is now an entirely different book than it had started as, and I don't think the change is for the better. It's firmly magical girl, but it's not particularly good, interesting, or innovative magical girl. The only thing that sets it apart are a few scenes that genuinely don't make any sense. Like the token rich girl responding to a magical girl who hates her because she's rich by... giving her piano lessons?

I think I liked this one better than #3 although the superhero crew twist is certainly unexpected. The part that I thought was really special about this one is the exploration of other people's expectations and how they impact us, the weight we put on ourselves and have imposed on us...those little tidbits are definitely what keep me coming back

This manga had promise, the art style and beginning are amazing, but soon crashes and burns harder than anything I've seen before. It is a wonder how the author made this much of a blunder past the first arc and most of the second.

Honestly, this series is fun, but it feels like the plot is getting a little outta hand…. Magical girls fighting despair doesn’t seem like a proper plot, but that’s what it’s become.
