This has been on the shelf for a long time, and I finally read it. Published in 1989. it's basically a stitched-together series of interviews with great British actresses about acting various Shakespeare roles. In theater terms, these productions are ancient history by now, but it's fascinating to learn how these brilliant people set about doing their jobs.

One of the great works of Shakespeare performance criticism.
