In 1912 when Antonia Isola published Simple Italian Cookery Italian food was virtually unknown in the United States. Many people thought the Italian diet consisted only of garlic and oil. This book was written to give Americans a glimpse into a new style of cooking. The book contains recipes for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and of course pasta.
Badly formatted and possibly badly translated in parts. There are definitely times when the recipe is vague. However there are ideas and combinations in this cookbook that I haven’t seen other places and may consider trying.
Not paleo (plenty of cheese/grains). That being said, this is well formatted for an old/free book and better than all of the other similar ones I've seen thus far
