Second Time Around

Chief Inspector Burridge of Capetown PD is faced with a baffling case. A German National, apparently in South Africa on business, has been found dead in his rented apartment, with all possible escape roots firmly locked from the inside. And as if catching this Houdini-esque killer didn't pose enough of a problem, the dead man's identity is anything but certain. Add to this the apparent suicide by poison of another German on a flight to Europe, and you have the beginnings of a tale of stolen identity, espionage and betrayal dating back to the Second World War and spanning two continents. Cue 'Lofty' Towers, English holiday-maker, war veteran and prime suspect in the murder investigation to turn amateur sleuth and re-live the past, filling in the blanks of a story that has long troubled him. Who knows, perhaps things will work out for the best, Second Time Around.

This book was too short for me, I need more. It’s great story with so much for more story telling.

I sure hope that the poor spelling and misuse of words (there versus they're and to instead of too and the such) is a result of the book becoming digital. Regardless, it was difficult to read and there were some paragraphs that didn't contain a single complete sentence! On top of these facts, the book was not what I had expected. It was another book of the same title that I had intended to download.

Characters are everything!

I enjoyed the storyline and the characters were believable, but it felt a bit rushed. I would have liked for the characters to have been developed more, and for the conflict to last more than one day. Also, the typos were a bit distracting.
