The Last Santini Virgin

Rate this book
No woman was going to spring her mantrap on Sergeant Nick Paretti! And that included Gina Santini. They'd agreed to publicly play boyfriend/girlfriend, and Nick had never intended to keep up the pretense in Gina's bedroom. But her luscious mouth left him poised before a pleasure-precipice he couldn't resist. So he dived in - and took Gina's virginity with him. The beautiful temptress claimed she was after experience - not marriage - but her heart obviously disagreed. Meanwhile, something told Nick the guards at his heart had thrown down all their weapons and surrendered...

USA Today best selling author Maureen Child is the author of more than ninety romance novels and novellas. Maureen is a five time nominee for the prestigious Rita award from Romance Writers of America.
One of her novels, A Pocketful Of Paradise, was made into a CBS-TV movie called The Soul Collector, starring Melissa Gilbert, Bruce Greenwood and Ossie Davis.
Over the years, she’s written under lots of different names and she prefers the term ‘pseudonym’ to ‘alias’. As Ann Carberry, she wrote western historical romances. As Kathleen Kane, she wrote not only Americana romances, but western paranormal romances as well. As Sarah Hart, she wrote one really spectacular western paranormal that is still one of her favorites. And once, Ann Carberry even wrote a Victorian historical which she absolutely loved doing.

Under her own name, Maureen writes short contemporary novels for Silhouette Desire—books she loves to write because of their fast pace and condensed story telling. Maureen is also writing funny, contemporary paranormal romances for NAL and darker paranormal stories for Silhouette Nocturne.

Maureen writes paranormal romance novels under the pesudonym of Regan Hastings

**********

Nick's reason to take dancing classes was flimsy at its best, Gina's decision to never marry didn't make much sense and their playing boyfriend/girlfriend for a colonel's wife's sake was somewhat hard to buy. BUT that's a Silhouette Desire book to you and, once I got past the silly premise, I had fun reading it.

Light-cute romance.
The best way to spend a few hours with a smile on your face: cat-and-dog H/h, a gentleman alpha male (what else from a military hero), a sassy verging on annoying h (because of her stubbornness), good side characters, good chemistry and little angst... what else?
It is part of a series but I had no problems reading it as a standalone.

Gina was a little old-fashioned, and the whole promise to her father thing was a bit weird, but I really liked the chemistry between her and Nick.
