I love how every line, page and chapter of this story keeps you glued to the book. As the story unfolds the pieces of the puzzle fit together in an unexpected manner. It's so descriptive that it's easy to block out the rest of the world and just lose yourself in the story. I enjoyed this book even more than the Twilight series and there were certainly no boring bits!

I hope there is a sequel soon as I would definitely buy it.

Night Realm is a book that falls into both the Detective & Paranormal genres. It follows a cast of characters who are all connected to one another, but who are all trying to get radically different results.

Ryan Fox is a private investigator, down on his luck. Business isn't as fruitful as it used to be, so when he gets a call from the beautiful owner of the newest club in town, Selena, & sees the amount she's willing to pay for his job, he can't turn it down. It's an intriguing job- obta

Not the average vampire tale.... I loved that it was set in Australia - the places were actually familiar! So that was a nice change. I was a little confused by the introduction of characters early on as there seemed to be so many but once I got into it I couldn't put it down! Lots of action, blood, gore and mystery. Just what I like to read! just wish I knew the answer to the final question!

Night Realm by Darren G. Burton is a detective/PNR book set in Australia where P.I. Ryan Fox is hired to retrieve research by a scientist who is working on an immunization against vampires. The mysterious woman who hires him also has a brother who becomes a love interest to Ryan's very angry and rebellious sister Chelsea. Detective Marks of the Homicide division is hot on the trail of a serial killer who leaves mutilated bodies all over Australia.

This was my first read from this author and whil

Ryan Fox is a private investigator who is desperately running out of money and living with his younger, bitchy sister who blames him for their parents death - cue a horrible relationship between them. Nothing Ryan says or does ever pleases Chelsea and to be honest I'm surprised he didn't slap her or tell her to get out a few times over - I know I would have done! Chelsea's only interested in leaving school, working and partying until she meets Travis, a boy with piercing blue eyes and incredible ...more

I wasn't expecting to find this book appealing as vampires hold no interest for me. However after being told it was more of a detective story, I gave it a go and I'm pleased I did. Night Realm does have the vampirical side to it, with an especially descriptive human to vampire transformation, but it also definitely has the thriller element. Overlooking the supernatural side allowed me to enjoy the suspense. Apart from being overly descriptive at times in the earlier part of the book, I found Nig ...more

Murders are happening in the town that Detective David Marks is in and they have similarities of two puncture wounds in the neck. Ryan is a PI working for Selena and has been assigned to find out what Dr. Becker is researching. His sister, Chelsea, has met Travis and he’s different from the guys she’s dated in the past. With a vampire running around who only cares about what he wants, is anyone safe? I liked the mystery involved in this and how so many characters’ lives intertwined. I would defi ...more

So, my first review didn't save...so let's try again...

This was a great mystery/paranormal book. It was one of those books where there are characters you love and those you love to hate, but they all are needed to make the book work. I really liked the setting of the book, Australia...who doesn't love the Aussies. This isn't your normal vampire book and it was a breath of fresh air in my opinion, and I'm looking forward to reading future books.

This is not Twilight in Australia. Because in the real world there are no vampires.

There are hungry private investigators, ornery teenagers, used-up cops, beautiful women, mad scientists and a family of killers that keep moving around the country. Killers that no one believes in.

Well, you'd better, cuz these serial killers have fangs.

I liked Night Realm. Somehow he made it real.

Night Realm is a paranormal, young adultish book that incorporates a crime/detective story in too. The criminal side of the story was quite well researched and I thought it was believable, although not too intricately written. I would have liked to see more of that side of the story.

The paranormal side of the story leaves little to the imagination. It is much the same as any other vampire book, if you've read Twilight or Vampire Diaries you'll likely know just about everything there is to know a

Murder, romance and vampires, what more can you ask for? Ryan Fox is a private detective. ***I RECEIVED A GALLEY OF THIS BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

I was not aware that I was reviewing a galley with only 25 page count until I got to the last page.

This is a good book and I was interested almost immediately. I normally don't like vampire stories but, this one kept me interested. The characters were developing and if anything there was too much information about their lives which made the book drag at times.

I was left hanging, so I will have to go get the fu

This was a decent book. The storyline was good, I just felt that there was a lot of useless details. The characters were fully developed, but minute details of the main character's life were unnecessary. It was a little slow for most of the book, but the last few chapters really brought on the action. I was happy with the way it ended. It was a nice surprise.

First clue this book should have been classified as Young Adult is it continuously refers to the characters getting gourmet burgers from McDonalds.

This sounds really interesting, but what got me was the name of the homicide detective mentioned in the blurb. I have a cousin with that name! ^_^
