Great introduction to eggs, egg-laying animals, and mammals (including a bit about human pregnancy- but nothing about sex, just the baby gestating part). Just right for my 7- & 5- year-old sons.

We have birds' nests to watch and we just saw a video of triplet lambs* being born, so the timing of this book is perfect.

Reread in January 2021 to my almost-5-year-old. I'm really glad the library hasn't yet gotten rid of this treasure, as they have so many others!

I'm going to have my two eldest boys read this on their own for reading practice and then talk more deeply about mammals (this is probably a good time to have a little dictionary-use practice). Might have the eldest (9) write a dictated sentence, too.

A fantastic book that teaches about eggs and the many different kinds of eggs. At the end of the books there are a couple of "Read Aloud" activities that can be done to reiterate the lesson that is being taught. Great stuff.
