A classic of bird literature

Although this book was written more than a hundred years ago, it has nothing to be ashamed of when compared to current bird books. Admittedly the taxonomy is sometimes out-of-date, but practically all the other information presented is still correct. It's just a shame that the free Kindle edition doesn't come with the beautiful illustrations - but it's worth paying for the illustrated copy.
