I really enjoyed reading this book. It had a great story, awesome illustrations, and definitely kept my attention the entire time. I do think that it would be more appropriate for 4th graders and up because of the battles and the nature of the marriages. If I had children, I would be fine with reading it to them around any age, but I think some parents of kids in a classroom would disagree with brothers and sisters, even in egyptian myths, marrying. I loved how this book had so many resources in it. The first few pages had a list of characters and their descriptions, a list of tricky vocabulary words that were defined, and some background information about the myth. The back page of the book had a list of related books and websites that were appropriate.
No, he hasn't read it a hundred times. We checked it out from the library only a week ago. He has probably read it at least ten times, though. It's a well told story with engaging illustrations. My son is usually drawn to facts more than stories, but this book caught his imagination and he went back to it over and over.
