The evil SINESTRO CORPS INSECTS have invaded a baseball game on Earth. Thankfully, the GREEN LANTERN BUG CORPS are out to stop them! If they dont, Americas pastime might become the worlds worst pest crime.
Jane B. Mason grew up in a large family in northern Minnesota. She has written books for kids of all ages under many names and on many subjects, among them ghosts, Jedi, detective duos, princesses, twins, mean girls, and slam books.
Jane has lived in the midwest and on both coasts, but appears to have settled in Oakland, California, and writes almost every day at either a friend's dining room table or a little studio in her back yard, where she has a purple loveseat, a whole lotta books, and an odd selection of trinkets she has unwittingly been collecting since she was a child.
This is the NINTH DC Super-Pets book my 7-year-old has read to me. There's not much more I can say about these books. My son digs them. I should be happy when things are congenially resolved in these stories but this one was kind of meh for me. The bugs decided to call their battle a tie so the baseball game could go into overtime, the fans would stay longer and eat more junk food, and there would be more scraps for the bugs to eat. It's not quite the resolution I was expecting for Battle Bugs of Outer Space. I suppose, though, if my lifelong rival called a truce over a big ol' bowl of Oreo cookie ice cream with chocolate syrup and a cherry, I might oblige.
