A really well written war memoir by a man who served in the 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. Probably the best I've ever read as far as memoirs go, Willard could've been a professional writer. On top of a lot of personal and philosophical viewpoints on the war and life, I highly recommend it.
