Rate this book
Isaac van der Straatan chooses the occasion of his daughter Isabel's birthday party to announce his decision to sell Vanders - his chain of exclusive jewellery stores. Everyone is stunned - except Isabel, who isn't there to hear it. She is having far too much fun in the garden with rock star Taz Taylor. She couldn't care less about the family business, as long as she has something sparkly to wear to a party. But her ambitious sister, Danielle, who has her own plans for Vanders, feels betrayed. If Isaac no longer wants Vanders, why can't he give it to her? However, Danielle is not the only one interested in Vanders. On the day of the party, Isabel's best friend, Jemma Stortford, wakes up to find a handsome stranger lying beside her and cannot believe her luck. But, having conned two women into bed in two days, Nico Morales is feeling more than a twinge of guilt. He has broken his number one rule - never get involved. For Isabel and Danielle, life begins to! get a little dangerous - it looks like diamonds are anything but "A Girl's Best Friend"...

Most of my stories are set in small villages filled with quirky characters. These are partly inspired by the places I’ve lived in over the years, although the characters are straight out of my imagination! I currently live in Wales, close to a famous library and two ruined castles. My husband thinks we moved here by accident.

My first published novel was Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, which was a finalist in Poolbeg’s Write a Bestseller competition. As well as nine novels, I’ve written short stories for women’s magazines such as Take a Break and My Weekly. Before becoming a full-time writer, I worked as an administrative officer for the police.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy visiting big old houses, which I use as inspiration for the houses in my novels, and reading other people’s books when I ought to be writing my own…

For me, this was ok - for others, it might be really good. The intrigue in the story was fine as it did keep me wondering about what was really going on until the end but I just couldn't find myself bonding with any of the characters. Even when I got to the end of the book I still couldn't find a favourite of the three girls that the story was based around. For me, I like to find a character that I can relate to, or one that I can feel sympathetic to or I can cheer on. While I did feel some sympathy for each of them at some point I just couldn't love any of the characters.

Recommended by the wonderful author Trisha Ashley, I hoped this would have me as enthralled as Trisha's books do. I was hooked from the start!

A romance, comedy and mystery all rolled together in one book!

Identical twins that are polar opposites!

Who was the the enigmatic Nico really; a spy, a journalist?

Why does Jemma hate one twin, but is so close to the other?

Immediately downloaded 3 others....what more can I say!

I did enjoy this book but felt it came to an abrupt end. I was unaware I was nearing the climax of the story and then it was over! Some of it was a little far-fetched, but then we are dealing with fiction!

A freebie on the kindle. Not bad, but it would have been a lot better if any of the main characters were actually likeable.
