3.5 stars. A long awaited and very fitting end! A lot of things came full circle and it was very enjoyable seeing a lot of things we learned early on becoming important now. There were some times when the story got a little tedious with magical details, but overall it was very well written. Valis deserves his happy ending, and I loved the way it came about.

I swear it feels like years since I’ve been waiting for this book lol ;) . But man, was it worth the wait! I’m not going to lie, there were moments where I wondered if the story was going to take a different turn. Yes, inevitably, there would be an HEA, but how much of one? So, yeah, you’ll see what I mean. And if you haven’t read the rest of this series, go do so now. You need to read them all in order. If you have read this series, this one will blow you away.
Valis has grown so much since his journey to Avristin. From the abused, awkward man child, to the grown man he is today. And he still is learning more. There’s a constant well of knowledge he is learning from and it’s about to take every bit he knows plus some to get through what he and his team are about to endure. They are going to end this, no matter the outcome, the Qos has to go down. It has to end. And if that means Valis goes down with it, then so be it. It’s time for things to be as they should be. But Valis is going up against magic of the likes he’s not really seen before and it’s taking all he can to keep everyone alive and going. Especially himself and Tav. And even he has to admit, he needs a little help. And it comes from something he never expected. But if they are to make it out alive, including his father, then it’s time to dig deeper than he’s even dug. And pray, it works.
I remember from book 1, the awkward child that was brought to Avristin. So full of anger and hurt at the way his life had turned out. He wanted nothing more than to be able to kill his father, his uncle and all those who had wronged him. But thankfully, he was saved by two men that are now his fathers in every way but blood. They’ve brought him up and he has surpassed everyone’s expectations by far. Even himself. He never thought he’d be as strong and as powerful as he is. And I have to say, as a parent myself, I’m very proud of how far he’s come. He could have taken what was done to him and turned very dark. There’s been many times it’s been a close call. But the love of his fathers and his friends and now husbands, kept him in balance when he needed it the most. And that’s when he realized how much of so much he needed. It wasn’t just about magic, it was about family as well. Trust and love and the will to do justice. He’s come such a long way and this book could not have ended on a more perfect note.
I really am sad that it’s over. It’s been such an amazing journey watching not just Valis, but everyone grow. Even his teachers and mentors. Valis has surpassed anything anyone could have thought of because he never gave up, even when he wanted to. He knew he needed to fight harder and longer and be all he could be, even at the worst of times. And for it, he now has everything his heart desires. It’s not been an easy journey and I bawled through a lot of it. But it’s an amazing series and I’m so so happy I was given a chance to read them. You guys are missing out if you don’t read these books.

An epic finale to the God Jars Saga
The time has come for all of the hard work to be put to the test. Our characters have been developed over the course of the previous eight books, with just the addition of one pivotal new addition. As always, the story flows smoothly from the ending of Anchors, and the final battle has begun.
This book is filled with action and danger from the beginning to the denouement. Valis leads his army of Aesriphos, mercenaries, Kalutakeni, and laymen across countries riddled with Qos adherents, black magic traps, inclement weather and natural disasters, with Tavros ever loyal by his side.
With much help from his colleagues and the use of old and newly learned magic, Valis finds unconventional and often gruesome ways to get the job done. After only a year of experience with his abilities, Valis' inexperience shows occasionally due to overuse and exhaustion, where the more experienced Reliquary guards and Aesriphos show their talents by reserving their energy much longer.
The closer the army gets to their destination, the fiercer the battles they face. Valis uses his talents of scrying and dreamwalking frequently to communicate and gain knowledge otherwise unattainable. Constant visions plague Valis along the journey, but they do provide extremely useful information.
The final battle in the Qos monastery is something to behold. The High Priest of Qos is a ghost from Thyran's past, and puts on a beautiful façade. When Valis first faces him, the struggle is intense. The battle that follows seems insurmountable. But, the final confrontation between Valis and the Priest was ingenious; brutal, savage, and completely well deserved.
The chapters following the end of the war were very satisfying. Kerac's long held dream comes true, and old friends and lovers are reunited. I was extremely happy to see a reunion between Valis and his only friend from the beginning of Saviors, plus the added surprise of a connection between two important people. The bonus chapter lets us know that our MCs and their dearest friends and families are well on their way to a very happily ever after.

Overall a good ending to the series. We know where the lads are headed at the end of the last book, to save Darolen, defeat the Sovereign Priest of Qos, and return the god jar of Qos to its rightful home, thereby preventing Sovras from going completely evil and rampaging. The plot is fairly straightforward with few surprises. Unfortunately, the text gets bogged down with the minute details used to describe the magic sequences. "Gold shield under a black shield with invisibility and silence and molded to the body, and snapped off so it wouldn't drain... " mostly this type of stuff. The romantic scenes are also a bit uninspired and seem to be included just because rather than being part of the actual story. Collectively the series was fun and engaging to read, and the end is everything that I had come to expect.

The saga of Valis and Tavros concludes. The story arc has been phenomenal. The imaginative use of magic was interesting and oddly enough, very believable. This isn’t just a book with a couple of heroes. Every person that Valis brought into his orbit became a hero in their own right.
With so much information and characters to absorb, the series definitely needs to be read in order. A couple of the earlier books were a little slow to read and my reviews reflect that. I do think if I did a reread they would probably all rate at least a 4 star rating.
This book was an excellent ending to the God Jar series. The author should be very proud.

This was a wonderful finale to the series. I grew to adore all of the characters, though Aryn was very hard to forgive. In the end, his atonement seemed sincere so I was able to forgive. The return home was very fulfilling and made the entire saga worthwhile.
NOTE: If you plan on reading SOLSTICE: A GOD JARS NOVELLA, that story takes place BEFORE the bonus chapter at the end of this book. [The bonus chapter has a 10-year time jump, and serves as the actual epilogue to the saga.]
If you enjoy sword and Sorcery type fantasy adventures with found family and strong men who aren’t afraid to show affection, I highly recommend the series.

After 8 books, this book 9 in the God Jars Saga is simply, the perfect way to end everything. I have many words to describe the events on it, but all summarized in one... Epic! Really, after many adventures and misadventures, dangers, magic good and evil and so much hate, the love of Tavros and Valis and the loyalty and courage of their friends and allies helped our heroes to overcome all the obstacles to find peace. A wonderful epic magical adventure!

This is the conclusion to the third trilogy. The final battles are here. He’s has taken every step with determination to rescue his father. But Valis’s magical abilities have been overtaxed by trying to avoid danger. But Valis must not fail or the entire world will pay the price. I absolutely love this series, I am hooked! It is well written, with strong characters and has a fantastic story line. I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

Wonderful fantasy – Can’t believe it’s over!
This has been a wonderful series. It’s hard to believe that it’s ended. Excellent writing (maybe a little detail heavy some places, but it doesn’t detract), wonderful world building, a strong family of supporting characters and an awesome plot arc. Valis has grown from a boy to a man over the volumes and has really turned into a fabulous hero.
I can’t say goodbye. I know I’ll be re-reading these to live the story all over again!

this is def a series to read in order.. it is sexy.. it is interesting.. it is action packed and fast moving.. i was very curious where it was gonna go during the book.. scared a couple times that it would go somewhere else.. but i was totally happy with the ending. it was an amazing story and an amazing ending to an awesome series.
