Elephants, clowns, watermelons, roses -- it's easy and fun to create them all with Fimo?, a brightly colored modeling clay that becomes hard and durable when you bake it. The step-by-step instructions in this book in the Kids Can Do It series show kids how easy it is to make earrings, necklaces, pins, barrettes and more from brightly colored acrylic clay.
This book presented a challenge to me. I know the author and she gave me a copy and asked me what I thought of it. I am an artist and have dabbled in fimo and glass so I was familiar with the material and I didn't think much of her book. But what can you say when you know someone? So I raved about it and so of course she gave me a lot of copies (and an invoice, she didn't want to do consignment as she doesn't live on the island full-time) and asked me to promote it in my bookshop. I only sold one copy in over a year and ended up giving the other 19 away. I don't know of any other way I could have done it.
