This is the story of a farmer who loses his sight, and gains a Guide Dog, from the author of many books about animals and country life. Until one day, when the brakes of his car don't work, and he drives into a wall. When he wakes, he is blind. He falls into depression, hating his life, sending is fiance away, wanting her to start a new life without a crippled man.
