This is a lovely book and the beginning of my fascination with Tai Chi. The book gives a good, descriptive exposition to the history and philosophy of Tai Chi. The author also discusses the health benefits of practicing Tai Chi such as better balance, better breathing capacity, better posture, improved heart health, improved concentration, a general state of calmness etc.

The second section has the practice and forms and it is well written, nicely illustrated and easy to follow and understand. It also has the introduction in detail to an 8 posture movement and a 16 posture movement. For those who are interested in learning this ancient form of fitness this is an excellent book on the subject and a highly recommended read.

Basic history, and movements for beginners.

Videos are way easier to learn taichi because it’s pretty challenging to visualize all these moves from images.

This basic book makes me want to dive deeper into the practice of taichi.
