I found the second novel featuring Nicholas Segalla (Is he a time traveler? Is he a cursed immortal? Does he just have a really good doctor?) to be a brilliant follow up to A Time For The Death Of A King. Part of the reason may be my knowledge of the French Revolution versus my knowledge of Mary, Queen of Scots. I know significantly less about the French Revolution than I do Mary, Queen of Scots. Nicholas Segalla, our time traveling hero is investigating the disappearance of the son of King Louis and Marie Antoinette after their deaths in 1793. One day the Dauphin Louis Charles was imprisoned in the Temple with his parents and sister and then after his parents death he disappeared and his sister was set free. What happened to him, was he killed, set free or spirited out of the prison?

This is a mystery, and sets up the premise that maybe Louis XVII didn't die in the Bastille, but maybe he survived. Very clever.
