I picked this up after reading "Plenty" and noting honey as the locavore sugar substitute. While reading "Honey" I first started to believe the "Backyard Beekeeping" chapter that keeping bees was possible and relatively easy in a suburban yard.... ummm... no. This is a good book to orient you to what honey is and what honey production means - but will also let you know just how much equipment and stuff you need to know is needed to really keep bees. I'm thinking now I'll find one of those crazy backyard enthusiasts and buy from them.

More of an homage to honey than anything useful this book touched lightly on topics of the history of honey, backyard beekeeping, and a few recipes using honey. Nothing more than light reading for the passing curiosity.
