Oh the 90s!.

The story I've heard about this comic; that the response was so underwhelming for Aron Wiesenfeld that he left comics for fine art.

The art is PRETTY phenomenal and definitely much better than what was usually going on during the 90s boom. Yet, the writing is pretty restrained and very straight forward.

Only giving it 3 stars because 1. It follows the iconic Logan/Wolverine tradition.
2. It made me laugh when the artist put Logan in what I swore could only be termed as tighter-whities. They just weren’t white.

The funny part? I read this to understand more about Deathblow. Sad let down.

5 star art, 2 star plot. Quick read. Could be made better by removing all text.

The story is utterly forgettable, and if you're someone like me who barely knows who/what Deathblow is you'll likely walk away with just as limited knowledge about Deathblow as you did at the start of this quick crossover. But the only reason I'd give Deathblow/Wolverine a positive review is for Aron Wiesenfeld's great artwork.

I would consider Barry Windsor-Smith's "Weapon X" to be the gold standard for a great looking Wolverine book, but Wiesenfeld makes a strong case for why his approach should be considered. Contrasting the bold colors in "Weapon X" to the light, warm colors in Deathblow/Wolverine makes me mad that we didn't get Wiesenfeld on a better, more iconic Wolverine story.

Generic, nonsensical team-up story that doesn't matter at all.

Picked it up to check out Wiesenfeld's art and god damn does he deliver on some really great detail work, action and splash pages. Worth a pick up if you can find it for cheap, it isn't consistently great but the stuff that is good is worth it.

A quick read. Beautiful art and colors.
The story is a little too short and feels rushed in some parts. Not a story you have to read. But definitely worth checking out for the art and coloring.

This book received two Eisner nominations for best art team and best coloring and it shows!
