Wow I recieved this as an ARC for an honest review. And man I flipping loved it. It was full of murder, love, and suspense. I read this book in 1 day I could not put it down. A serial rapist/killer attack a women who survived and because of her survival she was put under police protection. Of course with any protection victim and police officer fell in love. However their love is tested when the killer decides he wants to finish the job. There was always something around the corner in this book ...more

When you begin reading Loverboy you have to take a minute before you realize what youre reading. This book is not your run of the mill love stories. Charlie(Charlotte) is a serial killers victim that manages to escape and is put under protection by this awesome police officer named Nick who ende up getting a little too personal for his captains taste in this case.

I was very pleased that it wasnt instant romance. The characters had to actually develop them over a bit of time together.

Charlie is the only woman who has survived and escape the killer, Loverboy. I really liked the beginning of the book. At first you are trying to figure out what has happened to Charlie, not only are you trying to figure out what has happened. But Charlie is trying to remember too. Waking up in the hospital, Charlie finds out that a HOT cop named Nick, is her new security guard! Not only is Nick her new security guard, he is her LIVE in security guard.
One word to describe Nick is HOT! He is a

Although many readers have categorized Loverboy as a psychological thriller, for me this story was like a lesson of life, an introspective vision on survival, courage and on the healing power of love.
Charlie Murphy should inspire and help many women in how to overcome traumas, no matter their nature, and to get over their fears and scars, learning to trust and love again.

I wholeheartly adore this. I was completely drawn into it and didn't want to put it down. I want to applaud Trista for writing this novel. This is not an easy thing to write about. And it's not an easy thing to read about. Rape is very serious but by creating a novel that feels real and characters that are loveable as well as a story that is so many things, its sweet, dark, thrilling and beautiful. She has did something just simply wonderful.

Wow! I was actually drawn into he thriller part of the story before the romance part, but that's just me. The thought of living through what Charlie had lived through had me from the first page. Where was Loverboy and when would he strike next? A page turning story that allowed me to feel the fear Charlie and Nick felt. Every time there was a knock at the door, the phone rang or they stepped outside I feared Loverboy would show his face. Heart thumping excitement and loving tenderness! A great ...more

This was a really brilliant read. It's a murder/mystery/romance which I was totally glued to.

Charlie is a serial killers victim that luckily escaped. Her life is now in danger so she's put under the protection of a police officer called Nick. This is their story which has a great storyline and twists and turns that had you on your toes!

If your looking for a gripping read that will have you sitting at the edge of your seat then this is it.

Received in return for an honest review.

If you want a well written, deep, thrilling, sexy and heart felt book to read...look away from the muck of 50 Shades and look here. Taking a horrible, tragic event and making something beautiful of it is hard to do. But, Trista has done just that. I know a good read when I read one. And, this is it.

I liked the premise of this book but after starting it realized it had a strong New Adult vibe which wasn't what I was looking for. Decided not to finish or rate this one.

I am sitting trying to pin point what genre box this book goes into and I just can't. It's an adult novel but would work for a older YA Crossover. It's realistic, contemporary with some romance and a thrilling and suspensful story line that keep to hooked from start to finished.

Holy crap!! What an emotional, fast paced and healing book this was. Trista had me from the first page, she was able to grab your attention and keep it completely. This is a story of rising up and healing. Being able to stand on your own feet again and not let the evils of this world hold you back from living life to its fullest and doing what you love most. Trista was able to navigate a very sensitive issue beautifully without over doing it. I loved the style of writing and being able to get ...more

There is no way I couldn't give this book 5 stars. If you read the blurb, I won't re-write a synopsis for you. The only surviving victim of a serial killer/rapist, Charlie embodies so many qualities and is a true role model for abuse/rape/assault victims everywhere. While there are many graphic descriptions that may be a trigger for victims, these scenes and narratives are treated with utmost respect and taste. Charlie has her weak moments, as anyone in that situation would understandably be. ...more

She's not sure how she did it but the police are not taking any chances with her safety while he's still on the loose. Their idea is to keep officer Nick Andrews close to her for protection. After an intriguing blurb, Loverboy fell a little short. For me, some key aspects of the story were really glossed over, and other parts (especially dialogue) were really repetitive.

Im really not trying to be petty here, but the phrases gob of brown hair, large blob of hair, and a glob of stray hairs were really distracting. While some things justify being classified as blobs, globs, and gobs, hair just isnt among their number. Beyond that, the frequent use of point made got on my

I did not expect the who of the mystery. Truly did not expect. wow. just wow. I love Nick though. He is just what Charlie needed to recover. He was kind and gentle. Understanding and firm and protective. Patient as all getup too. They were thrown together under sad circumstances and he helps her heal. Without trying they fell in love but danger is still lurking.
Her attacker wants her dead and he is her protector.

Charlie was the girl who loved to dance and be young. She was going to college, teaching at a local dance studio, and enjoyed New York for everything it was worth. She decided to go to a party with friends one night against her better judgment and when the party turned into drug and alcohol fest she left. Instead of hailing a cab or avoiding walking central park, she again went against her better judgment and walked the short distance through central park to her place at 1 am. Bad idea. She ...more

This book has a lot of things that happen in our every day world, maybe not to you but it has happened to someone you may know. The decisions we make can be the one that will follow us for the rest of our lives, which unfortunately was what happened to our main character as she took that one step through the park. But she should have died as is the killer/rapist MO. With not being able to remember what happened and no leads to a suspect the police department put Nick, a male officer in charge of ...more

Okay where to start this review because lord there was so much to this story that I am not sure my review will do it justice. It is one of those books that at first you are like oh no because you know it is going to be sad at first but then you continue reading and you caught up in this suspense and you can't help but feel like you are on a roller coaster ride because everything is happening so fast but not fast enough.

A great romantic suspense that kept me hooked from the beginning.

I really enjoyed this story, right from the very first paragraph I knew I was going to enjoy it, it was very tense from the get go and I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next.

I am giving this novel 4 of 5 stars. Wow..... what a fabulous read! I am normally not drawn to this genre of books, but after I read the synopsis for the book and a review or two, I decided to give it a go. Man ~ I was not disappointed. This book was full of mystery, intrigue, romance, and was a bit of a "thriller" as well. I will say that the only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that I felt it was a little forced or maybe repetitive at times and just needed that something extra??? Thanks ...more

Sometimes we make decision that will forever haunt us. The tiniest thing that puts us in harms way. That's what happened on the night Charlie decided to walk through Central Park on her way home from an out of control party. It's a decision that she will forever regret.

She was supposed to be victim number six, but fought and escaped. There are no leads to the case. She barely remembers what happened. Only her broken and beaten body shows the tale. When the NYPD puts Nick Andrews as her body
