Quick and easy recipes highlight a collection custom-made for busy cooks, including instructions for 150 simple, nutritious recipes, along with helpful cooking tips and a useful suggestion list. Original.
I picked up this cookbook because its philosophy seemed to emphasize cooking around a normal, hectic life and it billed itself as being acceptable for beginners. I've been a "beginner" for many years now, and most likely will remain such for the duration of my stay on this planet.
Anyway... Unfortunately, in the whole book I only found about 10 recipes I thought fit with the rather simplistic tastes of my household and/or my skill-level. I have at least heard of most of the ingredients listed, which is more than I can say for some cookbooks, but there were hardly any pictures. Doesn't Ms. Bushman realize that beginners are very comforted by being able to recognize what the end result should look like? What photos were included are not located with the recipes. I will say that I found her "Tips" sidebars informative and useful.
I love Kitchen Coach Weeknight Cooking by Jennifer Bushman. Despite the lack of photography and bright food pictures that I love so well, I actually love the way each recipe is laid out on each page like an instruction manual, bright, large lettering to ensure that the cook is able to see what she's reading. It's chock full of recipes for the "on-the-go family". I look forward to adding this cookbook to my collection.
