The first book was the story of Emily, the only girl with 4 older brothers. Next was the story of the youngest brother Stephen. Now this book tells the story of Clayton the 3rd of the 4 brothers. At the beginning the story flashes back to six years earlier when Bree was 16 and Clayton was 20 and she had a major crush on him even though he didn't seem to notice his little sister's friend. It was a fun way to start the story. A lot had happened over those six years

This is the third book in the series and follows Lord Clayton and Lady Briana. While I enjoyed the story and characters, I don’t think I liked it quite as much as the first two books. I’m not sure why. Briana had a childhood crush on Clayton. Years later they are reunited when Clayton is in desperate need of a wife. In order to inherit an old castle with loads of money he must marry in three weeks. I’m all for marrying for love, but I was a little surprised his family was so against him marrying ...more

Decisions Decisions!! I couldn't make up my mind between 2.5 stars and 3 stars. The story has to much angst between the H/H. The storyline is a cookie cutter just like the previous 2 books. I think the author uses an outline and just changes the names of the characters and changes a few of the scenarios in the story to give the illusion of a different story However, they are all the same story even down to the type of villain in the stories. This one really is lacking in any sort of romance. Thi ...more

I'm again impressed by the author' sense of humor, it's great! Between his little niece's innocent antics, the aunt's attempt to keep Clayton in line and the girl he wants to marry I feel quite sorry for the man. He just can't win with them around but they sure keep him in line.
He turns out to be very compassionate, caring and loving, in fact all one would want in a husband.
Briana learns to come out of her shell and start believing that there can be good in some men. She learns to allow herself

Lord Clayton Clearbrook is left a substantial sum of money and a broken down castle from his essentric uncle. Unfortunately for the man, there is a catch to securing it. Marry in three weeks! Of course this sends Clayton into a tailspin, but he doesn't plan to lose this new found wealth.
Miss Briana Garland is a young woman who is determined to love the women that society casts aside. She is bookish, intriguing and is an asset for Whitehall. What man would look twice at her? Yep, you guessed it!

Not a bad book, but it lost my attention after I had to put it down for something else. When I got back to it, the formulaic and obviousness of them getting together bored me. I read most of it, then skipped to the end to verify if the obvious bad guys were bad or not. They were. Not bad, but not worth a re-read.

Good

Love the new characters. I wish they would have up play the love scenes it needed a little more description. I love the elderly aunt her personality brought humor and life to the story. Emily her ability to make things happen was phenomenal.

Parts of this was good, but the plot was just a little too heavy on the drama for me to really enjoy it.
