This had been sitting on my shelf many years until I saw the re release version. Sadly my copy was so old the print tiny and faded so downloaded a kindle version. Had not realised I also had the original Under the Rowan Tree again too tiny to read. I enjoyed it however found a lot of repeats, same thing being said over and over but I enjoyed the story as a whole

🩺 This is a Historical version of 'IT ENDS WITH US' by #colleenhoover , that spans over 60 yrs - with a lot more drama, forbidden romance, happy memories, what-ifs and a HEA.

🩺 The author herself was a Nurse, and really shows the dedication & efforts it takes to be in medical profession, especially being a Nurse. Hats off to people in this field. 🤗

🩺Our protagonist is a 10-yr old little girl at the beginning of the story, and belongs to a very poor miners family.

🩺 Against all odds, she becomes a Nurse, but things take a bad turn when her marriage to a miner from her community doesn't work out.
She then meets a Priest in one of the hospitals she works over the years, and they fall in love with each other. 💌

🩺 And, you need to read it yourself, to see how their romance spans over the years. Their hardships, their two kids, and some serious plot twists that have you shocked and turning pages without blinking..!! 😁

Well deserved 3.75 🌟 for this one ! Taking away .25 🌟 just because I felt it dragging a bit at places, but otherwise this was a solid plotline and I was eager to always know what would happen after each plot twist.

This is a story set around WWI and after the war ends.

Well, this is a Historical version of IT ENDS WITH US by Colleen Hoover, that spans over 60 yrs - with a lot more drama, happy memories and pain.

Our protagonist is a 10 yr old little girl at the beginning of the story, and belongs to a very poor miners family.

Against all odds, she becomes a nurse, but things take a bad turn when her marriage to a miner from her community doesn't work out.
She then meets a Priest in one of the hospitals she works over the years, and they fall in love with each other.

And well, you need to read it yourself, to see how their romance spans over a decade. Their hardships, their two kids, and some serious plot twists that have you shocked and turning pages without blinking..!!

Well deserved 3.75 🌟 for this one ! Taking away .25 🌟 just because I felt it dragging a bit at places, but otherwise this was a solid plotline and I was eager to always know what would happen after each plot twist.

This book has so many twists, I could hardly believe what I was reading. A lot of comfort in reading this book, and leaves you smiling by the end of it. Although it's a long book it didn't take me long to get through. Definitely recommend!

A wonderful book, so true to life. As an ex-nurse I could visualise all of this book. This is the second book I have read by Maggie Hope and I want to read more of them.

misleading title as plot quickly moves on from nursing and would not say duty is a word I would associate with any of the main characters . my first Maggie hope book and I liked it enough to get more of her books from the library.

Got a bit slow 2 thirds in but then it got more exciting! I would definitely recommend this one, written so well I reckon I imagined every part perfectly well and really shows how different things are between now and then! Love Maggie Hope :)

Not a bad read, although drags in places. Title a tad misleading too, she's only nursing in a quarter of the book.
