When Sarah is kidnapped by a dragon and taken to his castle in the clouds, it is up to her friend Oakhorn, the Unicorn, and her Aunt Mag to rescue her.
A beautiful book in all its simplicity, and a gorgeous hardcover. Sarah is a likable young (nine year-old??) girl, and the company of her prideful unicorn friend Oakhorn make them a great storybook couple. The story moves along swiftly and finishes with a surprisingly exciting ending; nothing short of what a "Moongobble and Me" book might do. I really love this book, and being able to hold this book in my hands at this moment is a miracle in itself. I thought I knew all of the books Bruce Coville has written, and as usual I've been corrected. Searching high and low I'd finally found it on Amazon.com and waited months and months hoping the price would go down. Two weeks ago, it finally happened. The $69.72 price line had magically "poofed" into a $0.65. In less than four seconds my order was placed, and now here it is; the fragile jewel in my treasure trove of books.
This is the first book by Bruce Coville that I've read outside of the Unicorn Chronicles series. I liked it. It was a simple, easily understood plot for children, and my son really enjoyed the illustrations. The illustrations fit in perfectly with the book. A good, quick read to or for children.
