When Roger goes with his family to clean up Uncle Arnold's ramshackle old house in Wattle Street, he finds that it is not at all an ordinary sort of place.
In fact, very strange things are happening right down Wattle Street. Everyone seems to have a secret. And soon Roger has the most fantastic secret of all: a haunted TV set, with most peculiar powers. Roger is in for an adventure he'll never forget.
