A while back, I read a book: Magical Paths: Labyrinths & Mazes in the 21st Century (https://milanyaece.blogspot.com/2013/...). In that book, I learned that a labyrinth is always unicursal, and designs with choices are mazes. Well, I very much enjoyed the book on Labyrinths, but had actually been expecting a book on mazes, and so had been meaning ever since to read a book on mazes. Well, this one came in at under 100 pages, and with all the mazes contained within it seemed more like a children's book, so I figured it was a good candidate for my "8-books-in-8-weeks" challenge. Well... not all of the mazes are simple, and there is one on nearly every page! So, it takes much longer to get through than you'd think! Nevertheless, it was fun :-)

So, the movie Labyrinth... was actually a maze. Was a fortification around a castle. Was a hedge maze. Had other puzzles within it. Was a race against the clock. Involved a child at the center, and a monster at the center. All traditional labyrinth/maze elements.

All I could think of was The Shining. Each maze, I just kept picturing drunk and homicidal Jack Nicholson doing his best impression of Jack Nicholson drunk and homicidal. Running after "Danny Boy," axe gripped tightly against chest. I suppose it's a pretty book. I paid ninety-nine cents for it at the Volunteers of America store down the street. The hot five-foot hootchie from Cali got fired so the store is a lot less exciting these days. I like the spectacle of hootchiness. They took Princess's cell phone from her, and from there it was a quick decline. Oh, this book works well as a food tray for your knees when you're lying in a chaise watching television. I think that's going to be its ultimate repurposing.

distinguished the diff between labyrinths and mazes; nice photos and corresponding drawings of a wide variety of mazes all over the world; an answer to key to find your way through; tips for designing mazes on paper, but not much info on actually building them

My dear friend Nanette gave me this book as a holiday gift and....all I can say is... VERY COOL! Who knew that the Children's Museum of New Orleans has a Maze but what an idea! I wonder ig Port Discovery's Urban Treehouse could be considered a maze of sorts. HUMMMMMMM...................
