This just reinforced why I hate mysteries. A bunch of likely suspects and in the end they pull someone out of a hat and a-ha! that's the killer! I did learn a vast amount about the smallpox vaccination. That was quite interesting.

This book satisfies requirement #8 ~ war/military fiction for the 2014 eclectic reader challenge.

I really liked the basic premise of the book. Someone was spreading small pox in Richmond, VA by spreading tainted money. Narcissa Powers, a nurse, and Judah Daniel, a free black doctoress are on a mission to find out who and stop a major outbreak. There are plenty of twists and turns and the basic story is pretty good. The problem I had with the book is that it seemed to become more of a soap opera
