You Are Psychic!: The Free Soul Method

Rate this book
Use a scientifically proven method to harness your inborn psychic abilities and achieve breakthroughs in everyday life!

Everyone has occasional psychic experiences, but few people realize that it is possible to access ESP on command. Using his extensive study of biomedical chemistry and brain science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Pete A. Sanders, Jr., has developed a method to show how we can tap into our psychic abilities at will to expand our knowledge and gain control of our destiny.

By sharing the techniques that he and his instructors have taught to more than half a million people, You Are Psychic! offers a program of simple exercises to teach you how

* Experience nine senses, instead of only five.
* Locate the body's four Psychic Reception Areas and find out whether you are strongest in psychic vision, hearing, intuition, or feeling.
* Tap your extrasensory awareness whenever you wish.
* Use your psychic abilities to improve your professional success, your relationships, and your creativity, and to heal your body.
* Apply your sharpened perceptual powers to solve complex problems and handle difficult people.

I was in this seven hour queue at JFK (that is not an exaggeration), but luckily the woman immediately in front of me was a lot of fun. We spent most of the time chatting, and got on very well. She was trying to get to California to link up with her Swedish boyfriend, and I taught her how to swear in Swedish. In the other direction, she told me that I had to read You Are Psychic!, it had changed her life.

Less than a month later, I saw a copy at my local bookstore, and immediately bought it. It had to be a sign. But, I am distressed to say, all of this happened more than two years ago, and I still haven't read the book. I just noticed it sitting there on the shelf, patiently waiting to change my life too. I'm sorry, Jessica! I'll have to do something about that.

Ok. On first glance, this book, to many, might seem iffy. It's brightly colored. Its from the 80s. Not only is the title "You Are Psychic," but it includes an exclamation point!

I found this book in a used bookstore and was immediately intrigued. I didn't think I would end up buying it, but something compelled me to. So I bought it, and was amazed at how enlightening it was!

We've all experienced moments where we've just had a "gut feeling" about something. Or a friend has known something was going to happen before it did. Or we've heard a "voice" that told us something really helpful that we needed to know. Not only does this book teach you how to hone these senses (we all have them!) so that they become skills, it's written by someone with a scientific background (MIT-educated) who explains the physiological reasons behind "extrasensory" perception. Ladies and gentlemen, science *and* soul. <3

The book also has a ton of exercises and meditations to try. If you're someone who feels that there is more to this life than what we see on the surface, you will love the meditations that are geared towards connecting with all things.

The idea of psychic-ness seems to elicit an array of reactions out of people. But after reading this book you just might believe that you, too, are psychic!

This is a straight-forward book that discusses how you can utilize psychic senses that you already have. The author is very clear about what you should do. This is quite unlike the majority of books in this genre, which are extremely vague, and seem to rely on the assumption that you should already be aware of your psychic capabilities, and offer no help at all trying to unleash them. Pete Sanders is down to earth, practical, scientific, realistic and easy to understand.

Until I read Pete Sanders book "YOU ARE PSYCHIC" I have a diffficult in being able to meditate. Finally I discovered that I did not preceive information visually but auditorally. Every page of the book is helpful if you want to become more aware of your life. It is one of my all time favorite metaphysical books.

I picked up an old edition of this in the used section of the bookstore I worked at and I thought it would be one of those sensational books written in the 80s that reads more like a really long ad. I completely underestimated how much I would get out of this book. Besides teaching readers straightforwardly how to tune into the 4 psychic receptive centers in order to receive psychic information, it also teaches you how these skills can be useful in day to day life, how to see auras and what the different colors and textures of auras mean, how to tune into your highest Self and stay there even while you're going about your day, how to experience Oneness through focusing your consciousness, and tons of other cool stuff. A perfect blend of descriptions, meditations, stories, and bits of wisdom.

There is no substance to this book. Sanders Jr. frequently makes the empty claim that his method is scientific while absolutely refusing to apply any empirical rigor to back it up. He constantly alludes to his degree from MIT but there is no record of him publishing to a scientific journal so this claim too seems completely ungrounded or irrelevant.

Easy to read. Total waste of time.

A friend of mine recommended reading this book. She was much further into this stuff than I am but I wanted to learn more about what she was so passionate about. I bought the audible version which was a little distracting. Some of the ideas might have been easier to pay attention to had you actually read it. Anyways, I bought the paperback so I could follow along with it as it plays. Haven’t quite done that yet but I have listened to the whole thing so I’m hoping I’ll be able to follow along with it pretty easily. I really enjoyed him writing about different types of people where he described how they are and what works for them. It was relieving.

I read the book in 2018 when I was just interested in psychic phenomena. I read the book in a completely disbelieving way, wondering who on earth could possibly write such a specific, instructional book about these "skills." Fast forward to 2025 and I am revisiting the book. I've now had so many experiences that follow exactly the instructional notes Sanders wrote up. In short - if you are skeptical, this book is NOT fiction... if you want to develop these capacities in yourself, just follow what the man says. He knows what he's talking about.

Interesting to see an MIT trained scientist's framework for making sense of the strange knowings which some of us sporadically experience. Most of the author's conclusions are drawn from personal anecdotes, though some have a hint of the author stroking their own ego I think many are dramatic enough to pique the curiosity of any skeptic. Would recommend to people who are on the fence about ESP, since this book kind of tries to present a scientific argument for it.

This book was mentioned in one of Laura Lynn Jackson's books, so I was curious to see what it was about. I really liked the body-soul connection this book uses to make help people understand their natural psychic abilities, which can often be very subtle.

This book is great. Being that the author is an MIT graduate definitely gives sway to the cultivation of psychic abilities. The only thing for me is that I am not that great at trusting my intuition.

Nothing new. Felt a bit like propaganda for his movement.
The buddhistic way of meditation seems more reasonable to me.

The exercises in this are great for a beginner, and I like having it from a scientist's point of view. Some of the personal experiences are bad and only prove that one can THINK something is true when it may not be. I found the information helpful, although the personal experiences aren't really worth reading.

This is the book I recommend often for anyone interested in learning about their psychic abilities and how to utilize them in everyday life. Mr. Saunders comes from a very scientific background and relates this information in the same way.

Even if you think that psychic ability is simply electro-chemical chicanery, you could benefit from reading and implementing this stuff. Sanders approached the ideas with the eye of a researcher.
