I'm currently reading this book for my grad program. The class is Mind-Body Approaches. This stuff is great! I am realizing what kind of therapist I want to be and certainly I know (especially after reading this) that I have to, have to, have to integrate the body into my practice. I don't believe in mind-body dualism-I never have. It's difficult to learn psychotherapy techniques from a book, especially ones so steeped in bodily processes and states of being, but Susan Aposhyan does an amazing job of laying out the theory and philosophy of body-oriented therapy, and offering clarifying examples and case studies. This book is not meant to replace learning from a teacher or supervisor, but it is an excellent supplement.
