As a person who rarely wears wraps or ponchos and has NEVER knitted either, I wasn't persuaded. That said, I think many knitters will find something in here. There is a range of yarn gauges and more than basic shapes as well as lots of different techniques. Necessary charts and schematics are available. This is a small format book so there aren't as many photos as I'd like. (I'm reading this 20 years after publication but the design of XRX publications always set my teeth on edge, but that has nothing to do with anything germane to the finished pieces...)

Lots of Poncho knitting patterns in a small sized book filled with photos.
I like the 'Hats' by this same publisher and I'm going to buy this for my knitting pattern book collection. This is some crazy big patterns that you will need a lot of yarn to finish, but looks like fun anyway.

Nothing really interesting. The majority are basic patterns. The only intriguing pattern is Sleeves in Your Pi - would consider making that one cay.
