Very interesting intro to hieroglyphics. It's a quick read just to go through it and see what it's about, but I'll definitely return to study it more at length as I'm interested in the archaeology and ancient language of Egypt.

Written like a workbook, this was the most clear thing I've read on the subject of Egyptian hieroglyphics. I felt empowered not only to read them but to write my own. Hey, that's in the subtitle! Mission accomplished.

I have the paperback and I love the pictures and the sounds that go with them, but I think I need to do more studying before I can judge the accuracy. It reads a little like a primary book, which is fine because that's what I need but more explanations would have been helpful. I have brought the book out many times to look at the pictures, copy certain letters (mostly names for friends). Too many times to count or put dates to.

This book isn't so great.

It has nice depictions of hieroglyphs but it lacks cohesion and purpose. Not worth the time to even flip through. Sorry. I know you made nice drawings and they are great to learn hieroglyphics for Egyptology and a good reference book, I guess. I was looking for something better

This was such a random purchase but I suddenly had the urge to learn hieroglyphs. Too many rewatches of the mummy? idk... Anyway, this was very good, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn.
