It gives a quick overview of many aspects of hardware, networks, and other elements you need to understand to work in technology and computers (PC anyway). It is not overly detailed, but it is meant to introduce concepts and parts not be comprehensive. It's a good starting point for someone switching careers, or being asked to do more computer-oriented tasks at work and who wants a general understanding of what all that 'tech speak' means.
