Rate this book
With this newly revised Eigth Edition of THE SOLAR SYSTEM, the authors' goals are to help you use astronomy to understand science--and use science to understand what we are. Fascinating, engaging, and visually vibrant, this text will help you answer two fundamental questions: What are we? And how do we know?

My limited understanding of astronomy has been expanded. I am now in awe of the sky I observe.

I recommend this book to those who love astronomy, although I believe there are more current and up-to-date versions. Since I learned nothing from my monotoned professor who taught the class, the book did a great job in explaining the science of the solar system.

Pretty good astronomy book. Also the only text book I've ever read that uses the word "crud."
