:-D Nové pro mě byly pojmy mindset a skillset, respektive kapitoly o těchto dvou důležitých součástech úspěchu, kdy jedna jde ruku v ruce s druhou, mi přišly fakt zajímavý. :)

Good read, reinforcement that thinking your way can help determine your success or your failure. As Henry Ford stated “Weather you think you can, or you can’t – you’re right.” Is so true, don’t dismiss your success before you start and Rhodes helps reinforce this and shares ways to address the negative thoughts. You will have them, but you can overcome them and turn your positive thoughts into success.
It is not win or lose, succeed of fail, learn from your failures and don’t make the same mistake or failure twice.
3.5 stars This was a short and easy read. Covers topics like neural linguistic programming NLP and other techniques to drive success. I’d recommend reading this as you prepare to update your goals or reevaluate your life purpose.
While the book didn’t necessarily cover new topics, at least for me, I still found it a helpful refresh.
I appreciated that this wasn’t a super long book. Often business books tend to be longer than necessary. Short, sweet, and to the point.
Excellent points for how to think and achieve your goals! This book, along with The Secret Code for Success by Noah St John, provide the insight for how to think about your goals and the mindset needed to achieve them. I have read/listened to so many positive affirmation centric books but they have not helped. These two books better explain how the brain works to put us in a mindset and position to succeed. I highly recommend both books!
The advice here seems to be good. However, the book is a bit abstract and i would have appreciated more examples of how the principles translate in real life situations. Those examples are there but i think more of those are needed for the ideas to sink in
Any author that recommends “The Secret” as a credible source is pushing some pseudoscience bull**** I like the idea of replacing “should” with “could though.
6/10: I really liked a lot of the examples used and they definitely got me thinking; a lot of the topics were somewhat mundane and something I had heard before
Did not finish the book, as it was fairly repetitive. The main tenet is that to achieve something, you have to become emotionally attached to it. Typically, you can develop an attachment to something inspiring and amazing. So, developing such goals and getting attached to them is key to achieving them. I'm also thankful that not every retired 35 year old writes and publishes self-help books.
Reminded me of a story that I can't find on the web: a pupil of a Greek mathematician expressed his desire to learn X from the teacher. The teacher led the pupil to water, then submerged him once for a minute and asked: "What do you want?" The pupil replied: "To learn X from you". The teacher then repeated the procedure (for a minute and a half) and asked the question again. The reply was the same. The third time the teacher did it (for two minutes), the pupil replied "I want to catch my breath". Then the teacher said: when you want to learn X the same way you want to catch your breath, I'll teach you.
